What do you suggest? v5.0 or v5.1 and all during an upgrade vb

Hi all!

I have an old version of photopost (3.2.1) and realized I need to upgrade! Renewed my member area license stuff and am ready to go.

Currently we are running vb2 (very customized) and have been working for the past three months on a complete re-customized upgrade using vb3.

We are almost ready to roll on the upgrade when I realized I should upgrade photopost too.

Soooo...here are my questions:

1. Should i upgrade photopost gallery now with the vb2 knowing that within the next 2 weeks we will be upgrading to vb3?

2. Do you suggest I use photopost v 5.0 or v5.1?

Thanks for your help!

P.S. I'm hoping the instructions for upgrading my 3.2.1 to new version will be in the photopost download?

1. Sure, I would upgrade; either before or after your conversion to vb3, I think the effort will be the same.

2) 5.1 rocks! Definately 5.1.

Upgrading a system that old means just following the upgrade instructions carefully and making sure you don't skip any steps.

thanks Michael! So there is no major changes I need to make to photopost to make it work with vb3?

Here is what I'm thinking: Upgrade photopost now to work with my current vb2. (Yes?)

Then when we do the upgrade across the site I change the admin settings (?) to reflect vb3 (I'm assuming this is the case as the way to change vb versions). If not, how would I change prefs (if any) so that the photopost 5.1 works with both vb2 and the upgraded vb3?

Thanks for your help!
Kathy

There is an FAQ on upgrading to vb3 around here - probably in the FAQ section. Check it out and we'll help you with anything along the way.

Thanks again, Michael.

I'm thinking I'm going to upgrade to vb3 first and then upgrade to photopost v5. Will this work as normal following the upgrade instructions?
