5.1 error on upgrade.

I told you so. Unzipped the upgrade. Changed the info in the config-inc.php as told to. Backed everything up. Uploaded the upgrade. Changed the permissions as needed then ran the upgrade,php file and got this:

"Database not properly setup - unable to read settings table. Contact administrator."

Soooo, what now?

Dave

That error indicates that it cannot connect to your database's with the userid/passwords you have in your config-inc.php; you'll need to go back and make sure you have them properly set.

I've double checked that and even compared it to the original one and my info file from my provider. They're correct. I'm sure it's something stupid but I can't figure it out. I've deleted it, reloaded it, rechecked permissions, etc.

In pp-inc.php is the following code:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
So check $pp_db_prefix in config-inc.php and config-int.php against the table name prefix shown via phpMyAdmin for the settings table.

I changed this info in the config-int.php:

// We need to know the server paths to both your vB installation and your PhotoPost installation
$vbpath = "/web/home/s/o/socalrailfan.com/htdocs/forums";
$pppath = "/web/home/s/o/socalrailfan.com/htdocs/photos";

// We need the URL path to your PhotoPost and vb installation
$url_path = "http://www.socalrailfan.com/photos";
$vb_urlpath = "http://www.socalrailfan.com/forums";

// The URL of your photo dir where your images are stored (with / at end)
$data_dir = "http://www.socalrailfan.com/photos/data/";

But I'm still getting the error:

It's $pp_db_prefix in config-inc.php and config-int.php that is not matching the full name of the settings table. Login to phpMyAdmin and find the full name of the settings table, maybe ppc_settings, and then change $pp_db_prefix to ppc_ (or whatever the prefix) in config-inc.php and config-int.php.

In the config-inc.php file is this line

$pp_db_prefix="";

You must enter the table prefix for photopost here. See the upgrade states never to overwrite your config file. I know there are some people out there who choose to try and write old values into the new file and upload that. You simply forgot to copy the prefix line over so simply correct that issue
