| Installation Error (5.1)
Hi
I get this when doing a new install 5.1
I suspect it is something to do with the way my isp has set up my files.
Both
PhotoPost Database User
PhotoPost Database Password
are correct
So is there a way to make the database files via MyPhpAdmin so I will not need to wait till Monday?
Thanks George

Installation Error
We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...
Could not connect to or create the PhotoPost database.
Be sure your user has permissions to CREATE or create a blank table before hitting REFRESH or go back to Step 1 to check your database settings.
If you have corrected the error, you may hit GO BACK and try again

If you can create the database using phpmyadmin sure. However the user and password you are using do not have create permissions is what they error is saying as we tried to create the database. You have an area to create databases in your server control panel?

Hi Chuck
I had to change servers to get a newer MySql/Php and it's mixing things up, the way they have done it, I've had this before that's why I would like to make the database TABLES (I meant tables not database name - sorry).
I created a database myself via MyPhpAdmin and that's what I got when I run the install.php I also tried it after deleting the database, (It does not say if we need tio make a db or not)
So I can make the database but how do I make the tables, what are they? - can you give me a line to put into the MySql to make the tables then I will see what happens from there.
Thanks
George

This means one of two things
Installation Error
We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...
Could not connect to or create the PhotoPost database.
1. The user password you used to connect does not have permission to create a database
or
2. The user password you specified for the database are incorrect.
You could also have the host wrong.

There isn't anything wrong with the config except the way my Isp has moved me to a different server, I had to get them to do something last time, don't know what it was.T
he user/pass are the same as my old PP-4.2 for threads, which I will delete after I get 5.1 integrated and running with fusion - can't use the importer? as threads and fusion are different members - unless you have another easier way than a fresh install- and upgrade 4.2 to 5.1 then some way to change the member ship accross would be ideal.
host is "localhost". (to integrate wit Fusion)
Am I correct in making these fields
PhotoPost Database Host
PhotoPost Database Name
PhotoPost Database User
PhotoPost Database Password
the same as these fields
User Database Host (enter same info as above if not integrating with a third party forum)
User Database Name
User Database User
User Database Password
There is nothing else to check, it just can't access my dbase for some reason, so I need to do it manually via MyPhpAdmin.

I would just check the info you have again
Either the host user password or database name are incorrect. If all these things are set up and you have the proper info it will connect.

My server needs every database to have a different username for security reasons, so I made my own database and a new username.
Inserted the username in both
PhotoPost Database User
User Database User
Then I ran the install.php and looked like it worked !!!!!
I ran the adm-index.php and received this
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in ..../photopost/forums/vb2.php on line 25
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /usr/local/psa/home/myphotopost.com/photopost/forums/vb2.php on line 267
I don't have VB
And when runing the index.php ALL the likes go to http://www.domain.com/photopost/index.php
What the hecks that???????

Could someone answer these questions please.
I'm going to do a new install again but...
Q1...... can someone tell me what goes in these boxes seeing it did not work the first time..........
NOTE..... I want photopost to integrate with my FUSION forum (cant see anything about fusion anywhere on the config) So lets say I want to use the fusion dbase seeing that's supposed to be the best way.
PhotoPost Database Host
PhotoPost Database Name
PhotoPost Database User
PhotoPost Database Password
the same as these fields
User Database Host (enter same info as above if not integrating with a third party forum)
User Database Name
User Database User
User Database Password
Lets say................
Fusion
databasename = fusion_dbase
username = fusion_username
password = fusion_pass
Photopost if needed
database name = photopost_dbase
database username = photopost_username
database password = photopost_password
Q2......And what do I put in for the VB3 License number "I do NOT use this"
Q3......What do I put in for the Photopost Database Prefix if I'm integrating with FUSION (fusion prefix = fbb)
Q4 ..... If integrating with fusion does photopost make it's own database or add on to fusion?

I would reinstall as you would have had to install with external registration and select VB2 or modify your database settings table
<select name=\"id41\">
<option selected value=\"vb3\"> VB 3</option>
<option value=\"vb2\"> VB v2.X</option>
<option value=\"threads\">UBBThreads v6</option>
<option value=\"phpbb2\">phpbb2</option>
<option value=\"nuke\">Nuke</option>
<option value=\"postnuke\">PostNuke</option>
<option value=\"dcf\">DCForum+ 1.x</option>
<option value=\"ib2\">Invision Board v2</option>
<option value=\"ib\">Invision Board</option>
<option value=\"ikon\">IkonBoard v6</option>
<option value=\"smf\">SMF 1.0</option>
<option value=\"mambo\">Mambo</option>
<option value=\"mybb\">MyBB 1.0</option>
<option value=\"wowbb\">WowBB</option>
<option value=\"xmb\">XMB Forums</option>
<option value=\"fusionbb\">FusionBB</option>
</select></td></tr>";
If you use phpmyadmin and change line 41 in the settings table to say fusionbb not vb2 and then modify line 83 to any forum table prefix you should get things to load. Note you need to input the proper path to the forums in forum settings

A bit lost Chuck....
I tried changing the settings tables to my address and line 41 to fusion (fusionbb did not work) and line 83 to pp_ ran adm-index and it took me to the login page which also had this warning at the top.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ...photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 338
When I login using my fusion user/pass (the one I put in the config does not work) I get......
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in ..../photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 32
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in ......./photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 54
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in ......./photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 63
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ......./photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 338
So failing any more fixes can you tell me what to put in the boxes from the info I supplied if I do a complete Re-Install of photoshop and use the fusion database.
Thanks for being helpfull and patient
George

Yes your right its fusion not fusionbb will tell Michael about that. However I think your lost a little on what your forum table prefix is. Look in your fusion config file I highly doubt its pp_ which looks like your photopost prefix I beleive its going to be something like fbb_

Ah yip, I'll change it and try again but I thought it was using it's own db - is this put in to get the user/pass from fusion?
Thanks

As I stated above you need to edit in forum settings and set the proper url to your forums

Ok, I've re-installed. All links are ok now, but still get......
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ........./photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 338
from running adm-index.php
--------------------------------------------------------------------
and I can't login with any user/pass. (no warning on the login page tho)
I've tried
fusion admin user/pass
the user/pass I put in during the install process
both no good.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The register address is http://www.mydomainplace.com/fusion/newuser.php?Cat=
which is NOT correct and get the Not Found page
there is NO newuser.php with fusion it's called register.php
EDIT: I've change the line in forums/fusion so that goes to the fusion registration, is this the correct thing to do?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Can we try fixing this and see where we get to.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ........./photopost/forums/fusion.php on line 338
Thanks
George

foreach ( $ubbgroups as $groupvalue ) {
?? I do not know why you have a problem with this. Every integration we have basically uses this line
You would need to PM me site details as my fusion install works.
