Problem when using spider-friendly urls

Installation went fine, everything seems to work. However, when I turn on "spider-friendly urls" I get a server error as soon as I try to open the first gallery.
Installation is on an Apache server 1.3.31, PHP 4.2.3, shared hosting. I guess it's a server problem but I don't have a clue...

Spider urls do not work on every server. If they are not compatible on your server, you will need to disable them.
