Upgrade Problems

Can anyone help me please ??

I have just upgraded from 4.8 to 5.03 using the upgrade.php script and instructions.

There were file rename errors that came up during Step 2 and I worked out from this board that I had missed chmod some of the data files to 777. I went in to FTP and fixed them all up.

Then when I went back into the Upgrade page it would not refresh to continue on moving files, no matter what I did. I ended up giving up and (I know its bad) going on to Step 3.

Now when I go into my gallery it can't access any of the images. They appear to be all in the data directory but they haven't been moved yet.

Is there an upgrade script for twits like me to just do this bit again or some other way around all this without losing all my images.

Thanks so much guys!!

Christine M

oh yeah my site is http://www.thescrapheap.com.au/gallery and they are closed at the moment.

Well if you only ran step3 ONCE you should simply be able to rebuild thumbs and mediums from scan database in admin

If you ran step 3 more than once you hosed yourself and will need to restore your mysql backup of the photos table and restart the entire upgrade

I don't do things by halves - of course I tried to run it again :-) I knew I would have stuffed it completly - typical.

Now how exactly do you restore a backup ?? Sorry to be so painful.

Thanks again.

Hi..

I hope you exported your photos table via phpmyadmin or similar, it's easy to restore back via phpmyadmin, see attached thumb or check the phpmyadmin help pages.

No I just backed up the data through the scan database section of Photopost and started the upgrade after that.

I'm still trying to fix this without losing images. When i run Step 2 again I get no errors and this message ...

"This step has completed. If you had file errors, you can REFRESH this page to keep moving files or retry moves that did not work if you fixed any permissions issues."

but when I look in the gallery I have zero images in there.

Any ideas please ??

Well your scan database removed your pictures so your not going to get them back without restoring your photos table and running the upgrade again.

If you need assistance let me know and I can pop back your old photos table for you.
