"Email gallery link to friend" doesn't work

When I fill out an email address and hit the "Email Gallery Link to Friend" it just returns me to showmembers.php and the email never comes.

Suggestion?

Have you tested your site email?

We use the php mail string command

mail( $email, $subject, $letter, $email_from );

Basically means your server has be to setup to send php mail. Most are but some servers are not by default

I'm assuming we're set for php mail since vBulletin is sending out emails constantly. Are they using a different technique?

i thought i had the same problem and then realised it was only on certain pages. it doesn't work on showgallery.php/cat/500/ppuser/3. but it does on showgallery.php?cat=fav&ppuser=&catp=. (i've got search engine friendly URLs turned on. hey! maybe that's the problem!).

VB I believe uses there own mailer.

Yes, but yours still isn't working for me just yet.

Apparently I can email from within my favorites gallery, but not from someone else's gallery.

I show no issue with it. if I view a category and enter my email to send an email from email a friend this is what I get and by the way I am using spider urls

Weird. I activated spider URLs and still no dice. I ente rthe email and hit the button and it takes me from the user's gallery to the index of all users' galleries.

Any other suggestions?

None that I can suggest other than testing your php mail by uploading a simple php mail script and see if it sends an email

It should be in the very bottom right corner.

It says "email your friend" or something like that.

Okay, thanks, I was looking on the main index page, but it's on Category showgallery pages.

Do me a favor, try it from your own user gallery, and then try it from someone else's.

Mine only works if I send my gallery.

I tried sending from Member's Gallery Cat (publicly viewable) from both mine and from another users and I didn't receive any emails.

Same here. But if you select a photo, then add it to your favorites, then send the email from your favorites gallery, I bet it works.

Don't know why.

That's just the problem we're having over here.

Go to my photopost gallery and do it and see if you recieve an email. A link to a category is posted above. It surely works for me.

If there is an issue here I am surely not finding it.

How about you both post url's to your sites

It doesn't work from your Showcase (Member's cat) but does work from your Main cats

From you main cats, it says upon mailing - your link suggestion has been sent
This doesn't appear on sending from Showcase.

It should not appear on showmembers and doesnt from what I see.

The email a friend link appears on the showgallery page a regular cat and works as intended from what I see

Please explain further what you mean about showmembers?

Looking at this thread this issue is about the email a friend link which only appears on the showgallery.php page

Here's an example at your site Showcase, like say a member wants to send a link to their pics.
