Back Up?

Hello all,

May I know how do you backup your data and the uploaded images files?

Thanks!

My host uses cPanel so I just do a directory backup from cPanel for the files. You can backup the db with either phpAdmin or by useing ssh to run a command like:

1. As above you would need to backup your mysql database

2. You would need to actually physically backup the site. Most control panels have the option of backing up the site in a tar.gz where you can store it on your computer.

I have no problem backing up the DB.

It's the data and photos files that is a problem for me.

How do you backup a particular directory from cPanel?

Just backup the entire site. You should have a complete backup ready. If your looking to backup just a directory use gzip from the ssh command line

What's the commend to gzip just a directory in ssh?
