Confused about member albums

I'm on my third license now, 5.0.1

In one of my older versions, (4.0.1) if a member creates a sub-album, (is that the right term, where a user goes into album admin and creates a new album?) and uploads a picture to it, the picture does not show up on the index page under recent posts.

On the new version, 5.0.1 pictures uploaded to a member sub-album do show up on the index page under recent photos.

Is this a change in the later versions, or am I missing something in the option settings? I'd like my new 5.0.1 version to not show pictures uploaded to member sub-albums on the index page recent posts area, if possible.

It would be a change if the album is not private then yes it will show in PP5
