| Everyone Admin
1) Presently everyone is an administrator once they sign into photopost
I'm not sure how long this has been true (since I usually sign in as administrator). It was not true when I first installed, or when I moved to phpbb...but for vbulletin?
Trying to run vb3 integration but it fails to display /vbulletin/index.php, so I have it removed.
photopost was purchased and installed first, then I bought vbulletin and installed it. I migrated the users from phpBB where they were previously being shared.
I'm on a Yahoo server
MySQL 3.23.49
PHP Version 4.3.6
Running firefox/IE
I'm running 2 separate databases (one for photopost and one for vbulletin), and thought that I had followed instructions.
The instructions are
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// PhotoPost / vB Integration Mod //
// developed by //
// Michael Pierce (danasoft.com) //
// posted on PhotoPostDev.Com //
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Pre-Installation
================
You have two options for integrating the galleries into your setup -
Type 1: As at PhotoPostDev.Com, you can put the galleries into their our "section", or
Type 2: You can list the galleries inside the same table as your forums.
By default we made $pp_headers = "yes"; so that it will create a section of galleries
to include in your forum. If you want to list them in the same table (Type 2), you would
set this to "no" so that it does not include the table wrappers.
Installation Instructions
=========================
1) Modify the first section to inc_photopost.php to include your database settings.
2) Upload script to your photopost directory.
3) In your vB index.php file, you will need to add the last line under under these four:
// ######################### REQUIRE BACK-END ############################
require_once('./global.php');
require_once('./includes/functions_bigthree.php');
require_once('./includes/functions_forumlist.php');
include('./photopost/inc_photopost.php');
Is the include correct? I suspect so, but when added.. (my photopost directory is photopost, it is not a subdirectory of vbulletin
Your help is appreciated
Rhonda

Rhonda
If you switched your integration to VB3 you would need to resync your usergroups as admin in phpbb is 2 yet it is 6 in vb3 so yes you have everyone set to admin right now
Best way is to use phpmyadmin and delete all entries except admin which you would change from a groupid of 2 to 6 and then from the photopost usergroup admin resync usergroups
You do not need to use a hack to do the vb main index hack as thats included in our software now and instructions are here PhotoPost Enhanced vB3 Index Integration |

| Fixed Security issue, how hard to move db?
Fixed security issue (had Admin as 2, changed to Administrators and deleted every other entry, then reset users using photogallery.
I'm considering moving database to vbulletin as suggested...TOTAL Newbie on this, it is presently in photopost with pp_ prefix for tables
BUT
from phpmyadmin, select photopost database, select export, select all tables, SQL as the format,
SQL options with structure and enclose table and field names in backquotes
and check data
preserve the _DB_ and save as file, and then import this? thru structure command?
Your help appreciated

May I add one problem? I thought I could refresh my usergroups from my forumsoftware, but apparently this was really a wrong thing to do!!! Now everyone who logs in, can access the admin area. The only get to see the general block, but they can! I use Nuke 7.6 with patch 2.9.
I didn't get any other groups then
How can I turn everything to the previous groups of Photopost? This shouldn't be a problem then anymore... I hope.....
Also, it seems like users ar mixed up at the moment they post in the galery. There where they have one username in PHP Nuke, they suddenly have another username in the gallery. I know the server has been hit by a virus and the hosting company has been working on setting everything back to normal. Can this be a potential cause of this problem?
The hosting company has just reset the My SQL Server, but it doesn't help one bit!!! Does anyone has any solution for this problem (besides installing the gallery once agian, for the zillionth time or something......)????
Thanks a lot for all the help!
Regards,
Ilse

OKay, here we go again. I decided to completely reinstall the gallery (Thank GOD I didn't have that many photos in it yet!!!). One problem is fixed now (users are logged in as themselves and photos show them as hte one who has uploaded the photos). One problem remains:
Users can still access adminpage!!!!! They only get to see the general block (Lucky for me they don't get to see the rest!!!!), but they're not supposed to see this. I have not resynced my usergroups, so that shouldn't be the problem. Anyone got a solution?
Regards,
Ilse

Check your usergroup entries the only way a group has admin access is if you set them to have it. In nuke regular users are group 3 admin 2 and guests usergroup 1
what usergroup entries and settings do you have in your photopost usergroups table?

In PHP Nuke (at least the version I'm running) Moderators are group 3, admin is in a separate table (authors) and anonymous is group 1. I don't have a usergroup 2 in PHP Nuke.
I have changed the settings so that moderators don't have mod access. That way users can't access the admin. But, those who I set as a moderator, can't moderate at all...........................
In the usergrouptable of PP I have the following:
1: Anonymous (corresponds with PHP Nuke anonymous group)
2: Admin (Not in PHP Nuke as a usergroup, cause that's a different table, no usergroup 2 in PHP Nuke)
3: Moderators (same as in PHP Nuke)
This really doesn't make any sense to me anymore!
I hope you can help me with this!
Regards,
Ilse

In Photopostas I think we went through last time Administrator is user_level 1 which translates to usergroup 2 on our install. Your admin is not an admin in the forum. Hense Ilse is admin in photopost remember.
What I am saying is if your saying everyone is an admin then usergroup 1 would have to have admin access
Most likely your mods have mod access but the end result is you would need to sign in with Ilse and edit the usergroups accordingly

Hey Chuck,
Well, I finally figured it out! I didn't expect mods would have access to the general box in the administration of Photopost. But they do So, that explains all!
Everything seems to be fixed now!
Sorry for the confusion!
Regards,
Ilse

| Problem not solved :(:(:(
I thought the problem was solved, but it ain't!!!! I'm back to square one: All my users have admin access (general block), while they're NOT Mods!!!!!!! I have no moderators set yet, for any of my categories!!!!! That was the next step I wanted to take.
I'm really getting crazy and completely annoyed here! I know you guys can't help it, but I've been trying to get my site working as it should for months now (including photopost reinstalling several times and reinstalling my complete site) and so far I seem to have one problem fixed and then suddenly I ahve it back again, or I have another problem!!!!
*end of rant*
Anyone who has a solution? I have included a picture of the usergroups with settings. (this was before I added the other usergroup, but I had the problem before I added the new usergroup, so it shouldn't matter, right?)
Regards,
Ilse

As you priorly said you had admin access set to yes. You would need to as admin set the proper permissions in usergroup options as I have stated before.

Okay, the moderators have mod access, but I haven't set any moderators..... So my guess was, noone would have admin access, besides me. Or am I wrong about this?
Thanks for helping me out ehre! I highly appreciate it!
As we say in the Netherlands:
I can't see the forest through the trees anymore. Which means, you just really don't know it anymore.....

People who haven't been set as a mod, have admin access too. They shouldn't, right?
ALSO:
If you have set one person as a mod one time and you remove them of the category they were set a mod for, will they keep access to the administration? Cause in that case it would come in very handy if you wiuld have a option where you can set up the moderators seperately from the categories (and delete them as mods if you want that) and assign the mods to the categories you want. ANyway, here's the new thing. Not from PHP My Admin, but from the administration of Photpost. Maybe this will give some light on the problem. I guess I just don't see something I should see, so I hope you DO see it
Oh, and before I forget, I don't have any mods at the moment, so no one should have access to the admin.
Thanks for all the help!

I am also, all of a sudden, receiving this kind of problem.
Anyone who logs into my gallery gets 'Welcome Admin' ... instead of their username.
There's no admin link though, even for me. |

Ilse
you would need to set the proper usergroup permissions in admin section for each usergroup
If you PM me a signin I can take a look
Kall
Without more information no one would be able to help you. If you read Rhonda thread did you recently switch forum integrations? People just dont get admin access unless you do something to give it to them.

No...I *did* recently move servers though.
Oddly, it's only happening on one Style.
Assumption is that I am using some variables in my phpinclude_start that are also used by PP.. if I manage to sort it out, I will post it here for anyone else that may be affected.
