password does not match the password verification field

Installed 5.0 no problem (no integration - stand alone). After doing some simple mods, logged out to see what new visitors would see. Tried to log back in - kept on saying wrong password. Reset the admin password, twice - same effect. Deleted cookies, etc. Same thing. Put back the install.php and clicked on reset admin pass and it comes back "The password does not match the password verification field".
Wiped out the database, tried to reinstall and I got

We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...
The password does not match the password verification field.
If you have corrected the error, you may hit GO BACK and try again

hmm. Totally deleted db, deleted all of photopost, reupped it all and tried to install again. Same effect.

Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

Thanx

Already tried that - it shouldn't matter anyway as I can't get past Step 4 "Configuring PhotoPost ". Upon clicking Configure Photopost, I get the "The password does not match the password verification field." error.

The only unusual thing I note is that although I am clicking on Internal User Registration, the instrauction in Srep 4 state "You can change them later in PhotoPost's admin interface, but please note that the URL to your VBulletin installation MUST be correct at this point." - This is a standalone integration with no vb. Assuming this is a generic instructions???

Also, at step one, (config file) it has a yellow-green box asking for vb license. Is this also generic or is something wrong somewhere that it thinks vb is installed and not doing a standalone?

Thanx

Okay well did you clear you cache and cookies?

Otherwise double check your entering the right password in both fields. The coding is pretty specific meaning that if both fields are not identical you get that error.

Hense only two things wrong here.

1. You have a cookie or autopassword complete feature in your browser which is autofilling in this first box

or

2. Your typing the passwords differently

It has to be either or.

Sorry, but it is neither #1 ot #2 and yes, cookies, cache and everything else was cleared.

I have deleted everything and am going to give a clean install a try again.

It can only be what I state. Sorry to tell you that but there is no other way around that. I install these daily with no issue.

The code is pretty specific here

if ($password != $passwordconfirm) $reason .= "<li>The password does not match the password verification field.";

Therefore you are either typing them wrong or that password is cache'd in your browser settings

Are you using IE's autocomplete and password save thing? If so clear the password from the settings.

As stated your cache is autofilling in that password.
