Apply settings and permissions to all children

I recently upgraded to PhotoPost PHP 5.02 -

In that version there is an option to "Add a new field type". I have added a field to my top level category, and then selected to apply settings and permissions to all children - yet the new field is *not* being applied to all categories below.

Ideas on how to apply this?

The dynamic field types which are saved in a whole separate table other than categories are not assignable to children
