Question Upgrade Problem PhotoPost GMS > PhotoPost Pro 5.02

Hi,

PHP V 5.0.3
MySQL V 4.1.9
Apache V 2.0.53
OS = Linux

register_globals are on
safe_mode is off

I am attempting to upgrade one of our sites from PhotoPost CMS to PhotoPost Pro 5.02 on my own Linux server (not having a great day with all these upgrades for my sites, but I am done with the Windows/IIS ones YAY )

I am getting the following error when I try and view the main index page (index.php):

PHP Notice: Undefined variable: argv in /var/www/sites/domain/docs/photos/index.php on line 15
PHP Warning: main (/var/www/sites/domain/docs/photos/forums/.php) [<a href='function.main'>function.main</a>]: failed toopen stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/sites/domain/docs/photos/pp-inc.php on line 3027
PHP Fatal error: main() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required '/var/www/sites/domain/docs/photos/forums/.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/share/pear') in /var/www/sites/domain/docs/photos/pp-inc.php on line 302

Need other info, just ask

Suggestions?

Thanks

Two things

Your integration type looks to be empty in your database settings table setting 41

Next your php error reporting is set way high to report empty variables. You can turn this down to normal error reporting or get your host to.

Hi,

OK, I ended up manually creating a bunch of columns in the settings table and populating them with data to get things working. I was then able to run most of the upgrade.php steps, it had to be done a couple times as some steps were not completed initially like the moving of the data files. I still have a couple problems with things at the moment.

First problem is that PhotoPost GMS used to rename all uploaded images and prefix them with the number "1". I ended up modifying all the entries in the database for bigimage and prefixing them with "1" to fix this problem. Is this a bug with the upgrade process?

Second problem is related to showphoto.php. It does not want to show the larger images, but instead shows the thumbs again. When I view the source code, it is looking for the larger images inside the thumbs directory. I see that in showphoto.php there is 2 lines with the value of:
$imgdisp = "<img src=\"{$Globals['datadir']}/$storecat/thumbs/$bigimage\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" />";

With the above coding intact, only the thumbs display when clicking the larger image as can be seen at
http://www.aliandcharlie.com/photos/...7&cat=3&page=1

Now when I strip "/thumbs" out, it works fine for all my existing images
http://www.aliandcharlie.com/photos/...7&cat=3&page=1
Strange how things are perfectly fine tho with showphoto.php on a couple of new installs I just did on some other sites I have.

Last problem is that when I access the admin area and try and modify anything under "Edit Settings", it does not save any of these changes in the database, I end up doing this manually via the command line. The only message I am seeing when tailing the logs is (this one is for "All Options"):
PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/sites/aliandcharlie.com/docs/photos/adm-misc.php on line 1180, referer: http://www.aliandcharlie.com/photos/...ns&section=all
There is no MySQL errors in the logs.

Thanks,
Chuck
p.s. Errors were turned up high be me as I am troubleshooting a bunch of other stuff as well ;-)

You did not run all way through the upgrade485/486 script as the third step resets the bigimage names

Quote:
$imgdisp = "<img src=\"{$Globals['datadir']}/$storecat/thumbs/$bigimage\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" />";
This would be correct as also in the upgrade485/486 the thumb and medium images where rewritten to there own directories

I think your issue is since GMS was discontinued so long ago there use to be a special GMS upgrade script before you could use before going to a photopost database structure

You are missing this upgrade that you needed to do before converting to photopost as they are completely different products

Ok, can I access this old upgrade script anywhere?

I ran it a couple times, the second time it did move the images, just don't ask me how many steps it did for 485/486. All I know is that it stated everything was done.

I realize they are different products, thus why I did most of the db stuff manually. I am pretty much there now, just need to sort out a few more bugs, like my last problem with the admin section not updating the database. The only other problem I can spot besides this after going through the whole site is that the admin section for edit categories does not list any of my sub-categories, but does list my 2 main categories. I have not dug into this one yet, but is most likely a field in the db?? (hoping) that I need to fix.

So if you can shed a bit more light great, otherwise I will pull more hair out 'til I get it sorted ;-)
