Install Problems

I get the following error on step 3 of the install:

I cannot connect to the PhotoPost MySQL server. [host:$host][mysql_user:$mysql_user][mysql_password:$mysql_password]. Check your config-inc.php for the correct settings and rerun.

I've checked my config-inc.php file, and it definitely does not have those values. Any idea what's going on?

I changed the values in step 1, it confirmed it was able to write to the config file (chmod 777) and viewing the config file via ftp shows other values besides the defaults...

It says mysql server you sure you on localhost?

I would recheck the info. You have a whitespace or something in that info or it is wrong.

Yes, localhost was correct. So was everything else as far a I can tell. Is there a length limit on passwords? Apparently mine was too long. I changed it to a shorter one and the rest of the install went quickly and smoothly. (I suppose I could have typo'd it, but I checked it so many times I really doubt it.)

The error message was a bit confusing, since it shows those generic values, rather than the values I'd actually entered, I was thinking that config didn't get updated or had permission problems or something like that.

Thanks for the help and quick reply.
