Definitely need some help.

I just upgraded to the most recent version of vBulletin and our members are having major cookie/login problems when trying to access photopost.

They will end the board via the forums and be logged in, then will then click on the "Gallery" link and it will appear that they have remained logged in.

Then if they click on one of the "recently added" picture thumbnails they will be told:

Quote:
You must be a registered user to view images!
If they click on the Photopost "Register" button it will say that you are already registered.

If they try to upload pictures it will usually let them, but as an unregistered user.

They are very frustrated, please help us!

Make sure that if you upgraded to VB3 that you have entered the vb3 license number in your photopost config.

Also make sure your cookie settings match the forum

Most common mistake is not setting the cookie prefix to bb in photopost which is the default vb3 cookie prefix

Does the license # change when you upgrade?

The settings for the forums are:

path to saved cookies: /
cookie domain: .modelhorseblab.com

The settings for the gallery is:

Cookie path: /
cookie domain: modelhorseblab.com
forum cookie prefix: bb

I double checked the license # with vB and it is accurate.

Unfortunately, the lack of a period was a typo in my post. The cookie domains are identical in both CPs.

What else can you sugest? All worked farily well until I upgraded vB.

what did you upgrade from? vb2?

Is the vb license entered in your photopost config?

Okay and your cookie prefix is not what your telling Photopost it is

Your cookie prefix for the forum is bb2 not bb as you changed yours from the default value

This is still very much a problem. I dropped the ball for a few days as we moved over the weekened.

Can I pay someone to fix this? I am not able to find a solution here, vb.com or vb.org .

You can obviously purchase an install but this would be your cookie settings for VB based on what I see

$cookie_path="/";
$cookie_prefix="bb2";
$cookie_domain="";

$vblicense number has to be entered in photopost not customer number

All of the cookie specs are accurate.

Path = /
Domain =
Prefix = bb2

This is both accurate in /blabpics/config-inc.php
And forums/includes/config/php
And the forum admin cp.

It is still not working properly.

I just doublechecked and it is, in fact, the license number and NOT the customer number.

Same exact way it has been since August 2004 when the software was purchased.

I should add to my thread that if I go to upload a photo, it sets it as "unregistered."

If I click on a thumbnail it says I need to register.

If I then click on register, it says I already have an account.

If I purchase an install (even tho it was running fine since August)... will you fix all of our issues?

Yes we can fix it with the purchase of an install

However your vblicense is not correct I can say 100% sure before you go paying for an install

EXAMPLE HERE

I log into the forum and here is the password hash shortened of course

f37856e88e8c

Then I login to the gallery

a796f279ab00

There is no way if the VB license is entered in the photopost config the same as what VB license number is in the files that this can happen.

Clear that VB license line in the config and write it in again. Maybe you have a stray character or space who knows

License # L7703334

Am I missing something?

There can be no other explanation what your entering has to be wrong

what does that line look like exactly as you have it typed in the box

It should be this L7703334 no spaces no other characters.

This is ultra important as the license number is encoded into the password cookie and I have checked and whatever you entered does not match your VB

Here is a copy/paste from config-inc.php

//
// VB3 License Number required for VB3 integration
//
$vblicense = "L7703334";

And here is a copy/paste from vBulletin Members area.

License Details and Options
License # / URL Status / Type Expiry Date License Options
L7703334
(Model Horse Blab)

?

This is how the password is formed in VB3

$dbpassword = md5(md5($password) . $User['salt']);
$cookiepass = md5($dbpassword . $Globals['vblicense']);

Now I just logged into the forum and relogged into the gallery and same thing the cookiepassword changes

This can only mean one thing the vblicense number is wrong.

Case in point not saying this is you but I did an upgrade for a customer about a month ago they wondered why there login was not integrated. They had entered there vb license number but did not pay there vb renewal fee but instead downloaded and upgraded there VB to the latest with a nullified warez copy of VB

View your own password cookies being written when you login to each product and you will see what I mean

Something that simple can cause this. Upgrading VB with a friends copy. Being that your password cookie is being written differently what you have in photopost config can not match whats being written in VB
