Exclamation Unable to move file [/tmp/php9RK7Ji]...

This error comes up a bit on Google but I don't see any potential resolutions on it. I just upgraded to v5.02 and had a bit of trouble getting my PostNuke login integrated (again). But everything is working now except when anyone tries to actually upload something.

I have it set on ImageMagik and can regen thumbnails so I know that is working. The full error message is...

Unable to move file [/tmp/php9RK7Ji] [/home/armorama/public_html/photos/uploads/2/emily.jpg]

The file above is a plain 40kb jpg and I have the EXIF checking set to OFF.

This looks to me like a plain PHP permissions issue with creating a directory in [ROOT] /tmp and then moving it. I checked and no /php9RK7Ji directory still exists there but I guess on failure it may just be removed automatically.

Thanks for any help!

Jim

Your uploads/2 directory is not set to 777

Check all data and uploads directories and ensure they are all 777 per the installation instructions. The issue is copying the file to your uploads directory not making the temp dir

Hmm... I thought that 755 was sufficient (or was with 4.6). Any reason 777 is now required?

Thanks for the help.
