Personal Albums Not Enabled

I cannot edit an album and get an error message "personal albums are not enabled." They are. And if it were the case, then how was I able to create the album but now cannot edit it? Not only that... I'm the admin!

I now found out that I cannot delete it either!

I'm also noticing that I'm supposedly not logged in (I see the login box) but yet I have access to the admin menu. Something is really awry...

Sounds to me like a configuration issue, can you give us more details about your setup?

I'm happy to let you check it out. I've kep the admin info I sent you in email active just in this instance. I've been able to delete them finally but ONLY from the Manage Albums menu.

Try clearing your cookies just to be sure that you don't have any stragglers from when we didn't have it configured properly. You also have some domain issues if I recall - and this will be tricky because you can't share cookies between two domains. I'll be glad to take a look, but to share a common login between your galleries and forums, you will need to use the same domain name - this is a cookie limitation, not a PhotoPost limitation.

The alternative is that users will have to login to both sites.

To clear your cookies, you can link to:

/misc.php?action=cookies

and erase your cookies.

I did that. Very cool screen and I deleted all the cookies. I'm getting problems now being able to login as the admin to the main board but I am unable to login into the admin menu. I get promped with a "My Photo Gallery Login" from adm-index.php and I keep getting bumped out putting in my passwords.

I logged in directly and unfortunately went around the parked domains and used the full URL at the main site, jnation.com .

Michael, I don't know how to tell you this.

It took me a while to clear the cookies and now I can login. But I don't see any of the screens in my admin panel that you are talking about.

1) Category administration. I just don't see it. Edit Categories Yields:
-----------------------------------------
Options Description

Check for and create missing thumbnails.
Rebuild all thumbnails.
Rebuild all medium images.
Check here to watermark unwatermarked files.
This action cannot be undone - backup your data directory and photos database!
Check here to recalculate photos/posts numbers and check children.
Check here to rescan photos and save EXIF information.
Check here to scan for duplicate entries for same photo.
Check here to resync photo/comments usernames/update comments counts.

Acions can be applied to select categories or all
(Dropdown)
-------------------------------------

2) Edit Usergroups

PhotoPost UserGroup Editor
--------------------------------------

There is nothing in the usergroup editor that allows you to administrate individual users as in the manual.

Usergroups editor does not administrate individual users and if your integrated with a forum all user administration is on the forum side

There is also a global option whether personal albums are enabled or not what is that set to?

Thanks omegatron.

1) OK... we've got this synchronized. I'm assuming you don't see the admin because of the VB portion. Perfect. Had a little confusion. Thanks.

2) Allow users to create personal albums is on. I think this is now working and there was a cookie problem.

3) What is more disturbing is that I cannot see the other items in the menu, such as category creation and editing in "Edit Categories" as in the picture.

I really appreciate all the help but without explanations, it's tough to understand what is going on first time around with the software.

CuteFTP is the culprit. I am removing it from my PC. It has screwed up a number of transfers now. It is worthless. Use something else.
