photopost 4.0.1/5.02 upgrade issues

I am upgrading from Photopost 4.0.1 to Photopost 5.02. I've backed everything up, and I've been doing some test upgrades.

Three questions:

1. I've read the UPGRADE.TXT file. It says that $cookie_domain has been added to the config-inc.php file. I can't find it -- where is this variable located?

2. I've read filelist.txt. For an upgrade, I'm assuming that everything gets uploaded EXCEPT for the documentation and data directories. Is that correct?

3. The upgrade.php file says:

"If you are running a version which is not listed, then you only need to run those scripts which follow your version. For example, if you were running 3.25, then you would run the 3.3 upgrade."

Since I am currently running 4.0.1, then I am assuming I should select the 4.1 upgrade script, since that is the script that follows my version. When I do, it says:

"Only run this upgrade if you have the 4.1.X version of the database in place (either by previous upgrades or if upgrading in order to the latest)."

So, does this mean that I should select the 4.0 upgrade link, against the initial instructions of the upgrade.php script?

Thanks.

You would add the variable

$cookie_domain=".domain.com";

to your config file replace with your domain setting

You would upload everything except the config files as it states ( you might not want to upload the header or footer html files if you modified them )

Then you would run every upgrade from 4.0 on

Wow, 6 minutes. Thanks for the super-quick reply.

--I didn't realize I was supposed to manually add the $cookie_domain variable. I will do so.

--I will start with the 4.0 upgrade script. Thanks for clarifying.

--I am still assuming that the data directory does NOT get uploaded for an upgrade, as it would overwrite my current data directory. Or should I be running the upgrade script from a new directory (ex: mysite.com/gallery2) with the new empty data directory in place? UPGRADE.TXT says to upload all files except config-inc.php and install.php.

Thanks again, sorry for the obtuseness -- I want to do this upgrade perfectly.

It does not matter about whether you upoad data or uploads directories as it wont harm anything one way or another

Thanks for your help omegatron. I've just completed the upgrade procedure. I've only done some quick checks, but, so far, it appears to have been successful.
