Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 154

I get the following when trying to upload.

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 154

Command:

"/home/costar/public_html/imagemagick/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 100x81 -quality 70 -geometry 100x81 -unsharp 10 '/home/costar/public_html/photopost5/data/500/thumbs/chris1.jpg'

I have a similar problem,,,,

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 127

Command:

"/usr/bin/X11/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 100x63 -quality 70 -geometry 100x63 -unsharp 10 '/home/reeftank/public_html/photopost/data/501/thumbs/tang-purple.jpg'

I got it I was set on the Imagemagic and I needed G2

thats usually a permissions error however in your error what is this?

+profile "*"

that doesnt come from our mogrify command line

Michael P March 12th, 2005 07:39 AM

It's new, Chuck. Error 127 usually means the path to mogrify isn't properly set.

To change to GD2, go to your Admin options and select GD2 from the imaging type.

ah you snuck something in on me LOL

GD2 is not available on my host.

What does error code 1 mean, and what does the +profile '*' do? Maybe that is the problem.

I upgraded my Image Magick since posting this and now instead of error 154 I get error 1.

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 1

Command:

"/home/costar/public_html/imagemagick/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 100x100 -quality 70 -geometry 100x100 -unsharp 10 '/home/costar/public_html/photopost5/data/500/thumbs/myavatar.jpg'

If it makes a difference, I had to install the image magick on the server myself.

If the +profile '*' thing is new, maybe there is a slightly older version of photopost I could try.

If error code 154 and now 1 are permissions errors, what should I check?

I made sure that the main photopost directory and all upload directories and sub-folders are writable by everyone.

Chuck S March 14th, 2005 10:06 AM

Have you checked permissions on the data directory to ensure ALL are 777

ejectorset March 14th, 2005 11:12 AM

yes the directories are all 777, should the index html pages within the directories in the data directories also be 777?

also I notice by looking at it from the command line with ls -l that the medium, mini and thumbs dirs are all '99' for owner and group instead of my username. I assume this is because they were dynamically created and that is the equiv of nobody/nogroup, but I am going to try blowing them away and reuploading if I can't chown them to my username.

Check your version of ImageMagick as I do beleive you need a fairly new one as older versions will fail on the new command.

Go into your global options and change Image Intergration from ImageMagick to GD1. Try to upload a photo now. It still wont work. Then go back to global options and change back to ImageMagick. Now your photo upload will work. That's how I fixed the problem.

Don't ask me why this worked though.
