mysql error on installation

Hi

I have installed mysql and started the server.
When I get to the 3rd step of install I get
Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\install.php on line 539
Any ideas?
thanks
Bap

Yep you need to specify the proper mysql user password and database so it will create the tables needed.

I did that...its my existing database from my old copy....and I entered the user/pass. I want to make sure mysql is connected. in the above log where it says

"C:\mysql\bin\mysqld-nt: ready for connections."

That means the mysql server is ready and connected right?

the connected status is ok, but the first log you showed us display that the old database is not existant...
Quote:
Can't open file: 'pp_iponline.MYI
means that ppiponline the db itself is not installed in the server, because the MYI file is the source of the database.

Have you uploaded the actual old database? The error is pretty specific its telling you the table is not there or corrupt

If its there have you tried running a repair on it?
