PP Install can't find mogrify

I am installing v5 and had my server guy install imagemagick the other day.
I followed the instructions and did a "locate mogrify" at the command prompt
it returned "/usr/local/bin/mogrify"
I put that into the install.php and get this when i advance to the next screen

Quote:
Paths to executables may not contain spaces - if using long filenames, use the short version.

Testing MOGRIFY at: /usr/local/bin/mogrify.... WARNING!
Cannot find ImagicMagick's MOGRIFY command listed as: /usr/local/bin/mogrify

Be sure that the name of the executable is listed in this variable and that there are no spaces in the path to mogrify. There were 1 WARNING message(s). If you are okay with the warnings, you may continue, otherwise GO BACK to change your config-inc.php or click refresh to try again!
Verification Completed!
I know that is the right location because i can go to it and run it through the command prompt. What am i doing wrong??
I am on a virtual server and i don't have root access.
I have checked and all dir's have the proper permissions

If he installed it did he enable shared? As in do you have permission to use it.

Go ahead an install with gd2 and then after you install try switching to imagemagick and seeing if it fails to find it again

Tried gd2, got this back.....

You have selected to use GD2 for your image needs.

We were unable to verify that GD2 is installed properly. The function ImageCreateTrueColor does not exist. Check with your ISP and ensure GD 2.0 or higher is installed

well that didn't work, my install of imagemagick died when i tried to run the configure line.
Something about a sanity test.

OK, just talked to him. He said he installed imagemagick exactly like the photopost instructions say.

There also doesn't seem to be gd1 or gd2 installed and i can't do the non-root install.

Any ideas?

From the error you report you do not have permission to find mogrify

I would have him do a non-root install in your webroot to see if that works

Have you attempted to try and upload with mogrify set to /usr/local/bin/mogrify

bet you get 127 means the system is not allowing you to access the root level and not allowing enable shared

Error when i leave the path as it is and try to upload

Quote:
Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 154

Command:

"/usr/local/bin/mogrify" -size 67x100 -quality 70 -geometry 67x100 -unsharp 10 '/home/three15/public_html/photopost/data501/thumbs/001_25A.JPG'

Why isn't there a "/" between "data" and "501"
