Upgrade lost my images- sort of

I went from 4.86 vB3 advanced to 5.0. Overwrote everything, kept the config file, ran the upgrade script, logged in and saw no thumbnails. I went to rebuild them and all the entries were deleted. Now I have 0 images and 0 thumbnails. This is not really a big deal because the images are on the server, and I have backups, but I think perhaps this might just be a path issue. Any ideas?

Another thought just occurred to me, I should rerun the upgrade script. I'll try that now.

Edit: That didn't work. It made mini/ medium/ and thumbs/ in all the folders and there are files in all of them. Something needs restoring or rebuilding.

I restored my database and re-ran the upgrade script. Voila, my images and thumbnails are back and rebuildable.

The moral of this story: make sure you input your integration paths/info before you try to rebuild anything. This is the mistake in the upgrade process that I made. I suppose this post is good for informing anyone that makes the same mistake!

Proably dumb question but I am getting ready to upgrade from 4.8.6 to 5.0.
Where do you mean to input your integration paths info.
Does the upgrade script not do this.

There is an admin section called "Edit Integration" in the admin control panel. I didn't notice any way to input this information during the upgrade as I believe it's a setting that resides in the database. Just make sure you fill out that section before you do anything else, after you run the upgrade script. Should be fine if you do that.

Only blank line I have is this one. PhotoPost Database Table Prefixes
Should there be a path in it or be ok with it being blank.

Leave it blank unless you use prefixes. Just copy over the settings from your old config-inc.php file.

I am getting confused now. Taht is my original config.php file I used.
It said in upgrade instructions to remove confi-inc.php/config.int.php and watermark.php.
Am I suppose to upload these sometime during the install. Really confused with instructions I printed out.

Just follow the instructions. You don't even need to rebuild thumbnails if the upgrade is done correctly. I just happened to do it and it caused a problem. Follow the directions and you should be fine.

Running a rebuild when you have a permission or paths arent right is not good as it will delete all images as it should.

Okay buddy lets get you set right

As with any upgrade it states to do a database backup beforehand

Did you?

If so restore that and then PM me with admin login and I will give ya a hand and see whats going on.
