No Photopost Login from VBulletin

After reading many threads on the subject I still can't get logins to coordinate from vbulletin to photopost.

User logging in thru photopost is happily recognized by vbulletin. User logging in thru vbulletin is not recognized by photopost.

I confirmed that the cookie settings in both programs were "/" and "" in other words sitewide and properly matched up. Also my vbulletin lic number is correct.

My versions of both products are new from last october.

I use vbulletin registration database for photopost but I don't have the two integrated on the same pages if that's at all relevant.

I changed the cookie domain setting from blank to .mydomain.com in both products but that didn't change anythign. Anyway, my cookies are aligned.

here is my config-inc.php:

// Cookie variables
// This should be set to match the path/domain for your cookies,
// / = "/"; sets the cookie to be usable throughout the site.
// = ".domain.com"; sets the cookie to be usable across the domain
// If your BB system has a different setting, then you need to put that path here as well.
$cookie_path = "/";
$cookie_domain = ".fing.com"; [this line was previously left blank in both products but still it didn't work]

// Cookie Prefix
// Default vB3:
//bb = "bb";
// Default phpBB2:
//bb = "phpbb2mysql";
// Default Threads:
//bb = "w3t_";
$cookieprefix="bb";

Thanks for any help!

What version of Photopost are you running as 4.8.6 the cookie settings are in the database not config file.

This is definately cookie related. Make sure as you make no mention of it that you have your Vb License number entered also in the config where it asks not VB customer number

Hello,

Here's more from my config-inc.php:

// PhotoPost Pro Version Number
$VERSION = "4.8";

// VB3 License Number required for VB3 integration
//
$vblicense = "A12345aa";

My real license # is in the actual file.

This was pro installation done by you and it all seems to be working.

well if my installation worked then resync your settings on the other one and use that one as a guide.

If your using 4.8.6 and overwrote your config which the upgrade states not to then you may need to edit your cookie settings in the settings table with phpmyadmin as they are no longer in the config file

Sorry but I don't understand...

As far as your installation: it's the only one I have and yes all other features of the program appears to be working OK.

>resync your settings on the other one and use that one as a guide.

What do you mean by "other one"? The other program meaning VB? I don't have another installation.

>If your using 4.8.6 and overwrote your config which the upgrade states not to

Well, I bought PP in Nov 04 I think and haven't upgraded. My config states "4.8" as the version not "4.8.6". Are you saying the 4.8.6 config file has 4.8 for a version listing?

Okay well then you can PM me an admin login to check out your settings.

However something obviously changed cause I know when I do installs integrated logins are always checked. Obviously a cookie setting changed.

A general FYI: this issue turned out to be the "remember me" checkbox ie session cookies. Apparently latest version takes care of this so the lesson is to upgrade...
