Moving site to new server...what should I look for when moving Photopost?

I currently have Photopost set up in a seperate database on the old server and need to move vb3 and Photopost over to the new server. What do I need to look out for or be aware of when moving the site? What configs will I need to change beforehand and are there any tables in the database that need modifying when moving so the paths are correct? Thanks.

1. Move all data and files

2. Move the database over

3. Update the config file with the new path and database info

4. if the url is already transfered you can login and update the data and uploads paths

5. if not you need to edit the mysql settings table directly and place the ip number of the new server in place of your old domain name in the url settings all of and you should be able to login.

Just note, it heavily depends on how you move VB. If you are going to use VB Impex for importing your usernames and Forums there there is lot of things to do.

VB assigns new IDs to users when you import and PP table keeps old IDs. I got into this trouble and it was a night mare of moving 500+ images manually to each user account.

cheers

Impex is more for importing different forums.

The steps I outlayed should be a normal move for an already existing system.

Yes moral of the story

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE FOLKS AT VB

Thats the whackiest advice I ever heard of. Using an import script designed to import from other forums into vb3 to transfer vb3 to another server HMM

I think they were smoking something funny over there.

Server moves are as simple as copying over the data and then resyncing the databases and access/passwords
