ok made a little progress, i configured my config inc file, but now i get this error:

Database not properly setup - unable to read settings table. Contact administrator.

I am not sure why it's saying this as I did run the upgrade script and it told me it was setup successfully, can anyone help? Getting desperate..

ok more progress, i did have errors on the upgrade script, it couldn't find my tables cause i did not have the right prefix in. so i corrected that and only got two errors after upgrade.php

Performing MySQL command: ALTER TABLE galleryusergroups ADD uplimit INT(5) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL ... Error: Duplicate column name 'uplimit'

Performing MySQL command: ALTER TABLE gallerycategories ADD ugnovote VARCHAR(255) NULL AFTER ugnopost ... Error: Duplicate column name 'ugnovote'

So, now I get my gallery page back with this error at the top:

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/apug002/public_html/gallery/forums/vb3.php on line 316

As well as it tells me I am not a valid administrator

The error emailed to me by mysql:

An error was encountered during execution of the query:

SELECT
groupid,cpaccess,modaccess,diskspace,uploadsize,uplimit,uploads,comments,editpho,editposts,useralbums,reqmod,canassign
FROM galleryusergroups WHERE groupid='2' LIMIT 1

The query returned with an errorcode of:

Unknown column 'canassign' in 'field list'

Looks to me like you did not run all the upgrades

http://www.apug.org/gallery/

YOUR GALLERY SHOULD BE FIXED. Make sure to set under forum settings forum style to yes

Database not set up error after upgrade

This is my second try at upgrading from 4.86c to the newest version. After the frist attempt I just reloaded my back up scripts and everthing worked.

After running the upgrade script I got this error:
Quote:
Database not properly setup - unable to read settings table. Contact administrator.
Any suggestions or would you be willing to fix my problem for a fee ?

if you got the database not set up properly looks to me like you changed your table prefix and you should not have. That is set in your config-inc.php and you can look and correct that.

As far as upgrading you run every applicable upgrade from your last version to the latest.

By the way there was never a 4.86C so I take it you meant 4.8C so you would run the 482upgrade

depends on your integration but thats a cookie setting. You may need to view the settings table in database viewer and set the cookie settings correctly.

what integration?

My integration is VB3, the settings for vb3 are as follows:

Path to cookies: /
Cookie Domain: (blank)

I am not sure where to edit the settings for photopost in PHP MyAdmin. The only cookie setting I found was for 'SMF Cookie Name' ?

As I replied to your PM

In your settings table entry 172 cookie prefix should be bb if using vb3 default
