Need Help Please!!! Ver. 4.86

I had photopost loaded and running on new web host after worm ate my site. Had to change hosts since new one would not turn Safe Mode off. Ver. 4.86 released so I did a fresh install. Can't get it to work. I spent a lot of time in another post explaining problem and got no response. I have license for Photopost Pro and Classified. I have been struggling for weeks. I think is has something to do with which path to use in config.inc and config.int.

Document Root:
/www/n/w/nwoffshore.com/htdocs
Actual Path:
/www/n/nwoffshoreco/htdocs

_SERVER["ORIG_PATH_TRANSLATED"] /www/n/w/nwoffshore.com/htdocs/phpinfo.php

Running VB3 ver 3.05
using integration
running VBPortal ver. 3.0.0
Server running PHP 4.3.10
not sure about my SQL ver.
Host is PowWeb

Your $PP_PATH in config-inc.php should be this

/www/n/nwoffshoreco/htdocs/photopost

as well as in your config-int the $vbpath should be this

/www/n/nwoffshoreco/htdocs/forums

and the $pppath should be this

/www/n/nwoffshoreco/htdocs/photopost

As far as you not being answered in a thread a few weeks ago here is that thread

Safe Mode Off - am I screwed?

You where indeed responded to according with the question you asked.

Omegatron, I did not mean that thread. I appreciated the response you gave and actually did switch to PowWeb. I realized that the thread topic was almost identical to one you had responded to already. You did respond to that one. I am not complaining, just explaining why I double posted on the same issue. I have been through a Webmaster nightmare since the defacing worm destroyed my site and PhotoPost Pro / PhotoPost Classified's are my reward to my users for going through all this. I just dropped the PP_ tables from my database and did a new install. I think I might have missed the part where photopost assumes the path to the forum is installed under the photopost directory. All seems well so far.

The reason for the statement about the other post is that I had posted about what I had tried and I had already done an install using both paths listed and what the results were.

FWIW - the VB integration part can be a little tricky since VB wants you to name the directory "forums" and PhotoPost puts in "forum". You have to watch for it and change it.

Thanks Omegatron,

Here is the other thread

4.86 Install problem

I know you can install VB in any directory you want to but there is some other code you have to change if you don't call it "forums".

Since that is the default directory, wouldn't it make more sense in a vbulletin integration environment to use what vbulletin's default is? I know from my standpoint, I missed the "s" not being there. I just seems to make more sense to have it there than not to.

Thanks,
Jim

I did not think it was that thread that you were quoting that you did not get a reply since it was only 5 hours before this one that you posted that thread and at that almost 11pm at night.

You do not have to change any code in VB and can install it in any directory you want.

If I download the VB forum and install it say on a site under a directory vb3 or board or anything it installs fine and I dont need to modify anything in VB. So you lost me totally here
