4.8.2 -> 4.8.6 on different server

hi,

i have a 4.8.2 installation on one server. it's a little bit buggy, so i decide to start a fresh installation with 4.8.6, but on another server.

is it possible to add the old database (and the pictures from the folders) into the new installation?
or is it possible, that the new installation will use the old database? if some changes since 4.8.2 were made on the database, can i do the updates manually, so the old database is compatible with the new installation?

thank you for help :-)

Your best bet would be to run the upgrade.php file on the old database and then transfer over your data directory and every mysql table except the settings one to the new install

ok, i will give it a try - thank you.

one more question: my old installation is not possible anymore to close (in admin section) - see attachement.

is it possible to upgrade without closing the gallery? nobody will post any pics or write comments during this time. only some guest looking around....
