Integrading from phpbb to vb3. What about the user Id´s?

Hi

I now need to move all my members and there photos from phpbb + photopost to Vb3 .5 + Photopost 4.86

this is done on a local test server.

I have set up Vb+Pp on the same mysql table as recomended
and moved the Vb3 attachmets system from dbase to file system.

I have downloded and configured Impex for the transfer
( Is that the best way? )

I see that User Id´s are changed from phpbb to Vb3 ( User 6 becomes User 7 etc ) will this have effect on photo ownership or not?

Are there any other good points I should be aware off.
I want this to work out smoothly

Maby some of you have done this?

I have found out that 11 users have been deleted out of 800

What If I would Create new userId´s and dummy users for the lost one´s in my phpbb2 database befor the transfer.

I was hoping some one would have tried somthing like that.

Can you see any thing wrong with doing it that way?

I did it, and found that the easiest way is to find out who uploaded what photos, and what their userID is, and then get the userID that they are now. Then I ran a simple SQL query that said alter table photophotos set userid == xxid WHERE date is before upgrade date.

I have to do that for photos and comments and have to do it for every user...I've got SEVERAL thousand users, so this is a BIG pain in the butt, but ultimately worth it I'd say.

Unless you write a script to redo the userid's and rewrite the files also your in for alot of manual work

can't I just insert new one's?
Is it more than just the userid's I have to alter?

Vbulletine suport says that I should simply point my Photopost to the importuserid? Is that not an option?

If all fails. Where could I get a script to do these things?

The files have the userid's prefixed to the front of the files.
