If you have done as I stated in the linked thread you should be able to upload. Note you need to use GD2 as Imagemagick will not work for these locked php's

Omegatron,

It is lmbs again...the person that started this thread. No matter what we try (I have someone helping me with the upload problem) nothing works. Does PhotoPost offer such a service that one could pay someone to fix this problem. It has been a week or more now that I have not been able to upload and frankly I am at wits end. There is no way I can fix this probelm on my own.

POWWEB NOW WRITES ON THEIR FORUMS:

I have made a new directory that is not commonly used and made our default php.ini use that, it is no longer required to use a custom php.ini for simple file uploading so I am closing this thread...

It is still recommended for security and reliabitlity reasons to upload your files to a directory only you have write access too.

if i delete the php.ini, would it all work again? And if so should i go back to using imagemagik or GD2.

Underlab,

I am glad your problems may have come to an end, however, I still can not upload. I too have a PowWeb site. I started this thread and I do not want it to be closed until I get an answer to my last post.

Thank you, Omegatron,

If I purchase an upgrade installation from PhotPost, will PhotoPost make sure that uploading works as part of the installation process?

To get a non working Photopost working you need to purchase an installation not an upgrade

Omegatron,

Thank you. Goodness... I am not sure what to do. PhotoPost works just fine in ever other way except uploading. I think I better just try to find someone who can work on (hopefully fix) my site for me. All of this is just way over my head.

my problems are far fromover, what happend at powweb screwed me over, i am having other issues as well, i am just trying to get them fixed one at a time, a user of mine has wrote that he gets the following error:

" Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 127
Command:
"/usr/bin/X11/mogrify" -size 100x100 -quality 70 -geometry 100x100
'/www/u/n/underlabstudios.com/htdocs/photopost/data/539/7CdStickeR-thumb.jp
g' "

now ive read about this in the other thread, and the solution was to switch to GD2 which i did but with no avail.

I dont know whether these issues are related but i also have issues with log-in. sometimes i am logged in and it everything looks as if i was logged off and sometimes vice versa, other times it will kick me off logged in. I am just asking if perhaps the issues are related, cuz i dont see how., but they did happen around the time powweb had their own server issues.

I also get the following forum error emailed to me:

Database error in vBulletin :

Link-ID == false, connect failed
mysql error:

mysql error number: 0

hopefully this could give a better insight on what i might be dealing with

Hello,

That's best thing to do, or try another host.

Even with gd it wasn't working ? or maybe it wasn't available.

Best regards,
Interdit

well i am not going to pay for an installation when the installaion was perfect the first time around, and sure powweb screw me over, but it will take more time and effort to switch host than to just fix this now. I mean it has to be something simple. Or maybe i should switch to b-powers hosting huh .

Seriously though, i think i am close now, just need to know how to set the upload daily limits. Maybe that will help.

lmbs yes if you are unable to make the changes needed on your server as stated you can purchase the install.

ok i changed the permissions and now we can upload again, but the thing is, it will only upload media files such as avi, swf etc, but it will not upload images, jpgs, gifs. It also will not change the thumbnails for the media files, which was an issue prior to the whole powweb fiasco, but was sort of de-prioritized with other issues i had with the script. So what can this be?

Have you viewed your phpinfo? Is GD installed? Are you using it?

Well yes, what is your actual config IM or GD ?

What error do you have when uploading a jpg ? is this extension in your admin settings ?

Can you put a link to your phpinfo.php as well, so we could check all settings, upload limit, gd, max time, etc...
Or even more can you upload that vbulletin file:
http://www.vbulletin.com/vb_test.zip and give us the link to that test as well.

Best regards,
Interdit
