| Help Please - Admin Login
Hi,
Upgraded to 4.86 and I can no longer access the admin, or for that matter maintain a login status.
Could you advice please on what steps to take to resolve.
Thanks
Dave

Thought it was a simple question !!!
Anyway..
Installed at www.madasbadgers.com/photopost
Using vb3 intergration and database with prefix of photo_
I have another site runing the software on the same server with no problems, so I guess server side is okay.

When asking for help it is customary to give some information about your install so we can assist you just saying I dont have an admin button is not enough info
I have registered on your forum and your issue is your cookie settings.
You need to make sure in your config file you have specified your vb license number then in your sql database in the settings table lines 171-173 are the cookie settings.
They need to be this
cookiedomain .madasbadgers.com
cookiepath /
cookieprefix bb

Thanks for the info, but the default config-inc does not have that many lines, it stops at 96....!
I've added those lines now but still no joy
Is there any method of deleting the cookie information from the DB ? or a php file like vb has for the job..

I never stated to add any lines to your config.
Since you have no admin access you need to edit the database and set the cookies which are entries 171-173 in your photopost settings table to what I stated,
this should fix you up

Yes I did, just managed to sort the problem,
When upgrading, then upgrade page was a little misleading. I select to upgrade to 4.82 thinking this was correct where I should have select upgrade ""from" 4.7
After loading the upgrade script reloading my old config, I seem to have it back running again.
Thanks you for your time

I hope I can jump on this because I was having the same problem.
Originally my user database was tied to phpbb and I changed it to vBulletin.
It took some editing using phpMyAdmin to get everything working.
it seemed to be a Catch-22 trying to change the setting in the admin section.
Anyway. . .
I edited the cookies settings as above.
My problem is that I can't log out of PP unless I log out of vB first.

There is always a catch 22 on this. You need to change the configuration file as well as the options in the database which are two separate actions which means after changing one you cant do the other without editing a file or the database
I dont beleive anyone here has looked into the possibility of placing all the config file settings and forum options onto one section as its never a good thing to switch integrations midstream for obvious reasons of Photo Ownership since userids change. All you end up doing is messing up your installation.

That is what I thought. Everytime I would change one place I was nopt able to change somewhere else. Then I'd restore back to normal and try again. After taking some deep breathes I edited one of my config files manually and made my other edits through phpMyAdmin. Plus compared my other PP install that uses vB.
But I still can not log out from PP unless I log out of vB first.
Is that a cookie issue? I cleared the cache. my cookie is bb as instructed above.

I have not integrated PP and vB except for sharing the user database.
I have a logon for PP.
