4.8.5 Upgrade Nightmare!

Hopefully someone can assist me with this. I'm upgrading from 4.7.1.

I uploaded all the files *except* the config files. I ran the 4.8.2 upgrade script from the photopost directory. All went well. I uploaded the new config files into the photopost directory and I get this error when attempting to login to the admin:

----------------------------------------------------------
Parse error: parse error, unexpected ';' in /var/www/html/Galleries/config-inc.php on line 166

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user: 'lounge@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /var/www/html/Galleries/pp-inc.php on line 74
I cannot connect to the PhotoPost database. []
-----------------------------------------------------------

However, all the db settings (user, password, etc,) are the same as before! I am completely stumped!!! Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

You have edited the new config incorrectly causing this parse error.

There is never a need to upload the new config. Just use the old one and once you save the config in the admin it will be written as a new config file

I can not say what you have done wrong without seeing the config file you hand edited.

Don't forget to run upgrade47.php

Thank you...I got a little confused.

I re-uploaded the original config file and ran the 47 upgrade as well. This is the new error I receive:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare convert_markups() (previously declared in /var/www/html/Galleries/pp-inc.php:2184) in /var/www/html/Galleries/forums/vb3.php on line 575

Hope I didn't permanently screw something up!

Ok....I re-uploaded all the new files...and everything now works fine!

Thank you very much for your help!
