Upgrade Problem from 4.7j to the latest version

Hello!

I just downloaded the latest version of photopost , its 4.8.5

I uploaded all files on my server, without install.php and config-inc.php.

Than i wanted to run upgrade.php but it did not work.

Then i changed the new config-inc.php and uploaded it and tried again.

Not working.

No i cannot call my gallery anymore and get this:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
When i want to call up upgrade.php i get this:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
i am relativly sure that config-inc.php is set properly, but anyway it doesn't work.
So i ask for help.

when i installed at the beginning at the year i achieved only a half integration with vbulletin 3.03.
so that u just know....

thx for any real help or hints

Bye Frank from Germany

Copy the config-inc.php file into your upgrades directory.. then it should work fine.

fvgffm December 28th, 2004 05:15 PM

the new one?

fvgffm December 28th, 2004 05:18 PM

uploaded config-inc.php in upgrades folder , take a look by yourself, something is still wrong....

Did you add all your config settings to that config file? The option also is to run your upgrade files from your Photopost dir. I just read in another thread that the document states you should do that... hey, I missed it too!

fvgffm December 28th, 2004 05:33 PM

i am sorry, what document states...sorry my english is not the best...

should i post my config-inc.php without the passwrods here that someone can take a look at?

Michael P December 28th, 2004 06:16 PM

No, you run the upgrade scripts from your photopost directory, NOT from the uploads directory.

fvgffm December 28th, 2004 06:27 PM

Thank You but i do not understand what U mean....

fvgffm December 28th, 2004 06:32 PM

i uploaded upgrade.php in main photopost directory but it is still not working...
i was told i upgraded sucsessfully besides a lot of mysql mistakes during the upgrade...

Please, i need support !

Upload the upgrade47.php and upgrade482.php files into your PhotoPost directory and run them from there. Do not run them run the upgrades directory.

fvgffm December 28th, 2004 06:33 PM

i did run them from there....still not working....

fvgffm December 29th, 2004 06:30 AM

Sorry guys, but the gallery isn't working anymore.
I did the upgrade from main folder with upgrade47.php and upgrade482.php.
I was told that the upgrade was done sucessfully, anyway i get this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: authenticate() in /home2/francis1/public_html/Galerie/index.php on line 36

Some more information:
Server OS/PHP Linux
Webserver Apache v1.3.33
MySQL 4.0.22-standard
PHP 4.3.10
The Database contains 90 mbyte Pictures

main domain:
www.deutsches-architektur-forum.de/forum
Gallery: www.deustches-architektur-forum.de/Galerie

partly integrated with vBulletin, header visible, but user have to registrate once again at the Gallery

Hopefully i get some support, even though it is "just the internet" ( how i read here ), though i earn my money with it.

My Gallery is unhacked.

Do i Have the right for support from Photopostdevelopers?
Or don't i? I don't know that, that is why i am asking.

My Useres get a little bit nervous with me.
I never had so much problems with any upgrade of any software in my whole life before.

Thank You

Okay you have two issues here and lets see if I can help you understand a little.

1. You need to run the upgrade scripts from the main Photopost directory. This is right from the upgrade instructions.

Quote:

3) Depending on which upgrades you need, you should upload all these files to the MAIN PHOTOPOST DIRECTORY (or, for advanced user,
upload only those scripts you need to execute).

4) Run upgrade.php and depending on your version, run any necessary upgrades.

2. If your copy of index.php is stating call to undefined function authenticate then check to make sure you have uploaded ALL the required files. You authenticate function is located in your /forums/{integration type file}

Quote:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: authenticate() in /home2/francis1/public_html/Galerie/index.php on line 36
Your integrating with vb3 yet your forums vb3.php file does not exist under your galerie install. This means UPLOAD ALL THE FILES EXCEPT config-inc.php

Thank You for replying:

to 1:
as i already wrote 2 times i upgraded from MAIN PHOTOPOST DIRECTORY :)

all required files are uploaded.

vbulletin is not integrated !!!
U only see the same header.

Chuck S December 29th, 2004 07:25 AM

In your config file it states server path to photopost installation. It would help if you put server path ;)

$PP_PATH="/home2/francis1/public_html/Galerie";

You had the url to the gallery

fvgffm December 29th, 2004 07:29 AM

its funny because i wrote in the same url as it was in the old config-inc.php.

Well if that was the mistake i say thank you.

How can i put back in the vbulletin header?

Chuck S December 29th, 2004 07:31 AM

You must go to your admin section and fill out the proper variables. First make sure your cookies are perfect with vb3 as well as the vb license number then go in and turn on the vb3 integration in admin options

fvgffm December 29th, 2004 07:33 AM

ok i try, thank You.
If i experience some problems...i'll come back.

fvgffm December 29th, 2004 01:16 PM

The integration i will try in 2005.

But i have another problem, when i or my members want to upload images they and i get this error message:
Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
What happened now?

mtbkanata December 29th, 2004 02:56 PM

I had that problem too... turns out that the file named Mogrify was not in the "/usr/bin/X11/" dir for me.. it was in ""/usr/bin/" ... so might be the same for you, might not. Eitherway, you need to locate the file called mogrify on your server. You might need your host to help you on that one. Error 127 for me was that the file I was trying to run, was not there.
