It must just be the long date format. After he set that it worked fine. I just don't know where you would set that.

Ok, found what he did.

In the Global Options change the date format from:
dow month dd, yyyy

to:

month dd, yyyy

That should do it

I have noticed something that I beleive is the problem in 4.8.5 that is not in 4.8.2

With 4.8.5 the month like November is spelled as such. In 4.8.2 it is abreveated as Nov.

Its these extra fonts that are the problem. I have a 4.8.2 setip on a friends site that I can compare.
Why is 4.8.2 months abreveated and 4.8.5 aren't if we can have that fixed we can still have the months and not do away with dow.

attached is image from a 4,8.5 which is the top picture and a 4.8.2 which is the bottom.
Noticed the difference in the months. the 4.8.2 is abreveated and the 4.8.5 is not.
That is about how much my IE is showing a scroll bar.

I posted this days ago to the first user who posted about this issue to shorten his date format.

If you want to change the wording of the language files date strings edit the language file but yes the date format with long month is what is causing things to span

iloco,
Just go to your Admin Panel and Click on the Global Options link.
Change the date format box text from:

dow month dd, yyyy

to:

month dd, yyyy

Or dig in your lauguages and shorten the long months one by one.

Either one should fix this problem.

I have been looking around in languages and not sure found the right file. Is it the pp-inc.php that needs the months shortin.
In 4.8.2 they are still long in that file.

Rather go to the pp-inc.php language file and change the language string from November to Nov. etc for all shorten them as well that will work too.

well that did not do it ( the date format) . I do not a have aproblem with the index page ..parse but when you are actually in the showphoto.php, The date format should only affect those templates that have them shown as the index.php.
