Missing features after upgrade

I just upgraded without any issues to what I thought was the latest 4.8.5 release. However, my version number stayed at 4.8.2

Also, my administration control panel menus are missing many of the features that show up on a completely different install I just did for a client...

In particular: The "Edit Settings" menu just says "settings" in my 4.8.2 installation, and the links themselves (like: All options, Global Options, Index Options) still don't show up at all in my upgrade.

Everything works OK, but it looks like I didn't get any of the new features...

Please Help!

With all that said, it sounds like you didn't really complete the upgrade. :) Might want to try it again from the beginning.

I just did the upgrade AGAIN, from scratch, and am experiencing the exact same behavior as described above (or should I say "lack" of behavior). My version number is still 4.8.2 and none of the additional menus in 4.8.5 are showing up in my admin panel. It looks completely unchanged.

What gives?

Have you uploaded all the files and followed the upgrade instructions?

You can the upgrade scripts right to bring your database up to 485?

Sounds like you didn't upload your new files; check your adm-menu.php file - are all the menu items in there? If not, you didn't upload your files properly.

I just did a completely new re-install. That fixed it. It was actually faster than doing an upgrade! I just saved all my old database info...
