4.8.5: Fatal error viewing last 1,7,14 days photos

If I view photos from the main page, or go into categories, etc. and click to view photos - no problem at all.

If I click the Recent Photos: 1 day 7 days 14 days all in the welcome bar it displays the correct photos but if I click to view one of them I get the following:

Quote:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /var/www/html/pp/showphoto.php on line 145

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 0 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

ok - but it didn't do it before I upgraded so I'm guessing something else has changed. My guess is that it has something to do with usergroup permissions as per my other error thread - daily upload limits not working.

I use secondary usergroups extensively to give additional control - i.e., I have a primary usergroup Basic User and until they make a single post they cannot use the PM system. I have a secondary usergroup called pCanPM who's only purpose is to turn on the pm ability. My guess is that although this is set to No in Photopost it has 0 for upload limits and 0 for daily limit thereby allowing any size of file to be uploaded (and in fact one of the photos I uploaded was about 600k even though my limit should be 200k).

I think this is a flaw in the permissions system of Photopost. If Allow Uploads is set to No, the settings for that usergroup should not be used.

In the meantime, I'll remove unused usergroups from the photopost tables. Perhaps a future update would include the ability to do this from the front-end or allow more control over the 'refresh usergroups' option.

Fixed - this was directly related to the other problem I had with upload limits not being imposed - http://www.photopost.com/members/for...d.php?t=110997

OK - just when I thought this was fixed, it's not.

I know you said there's a lot of info around and I accept that, but given the circumstances of when it happens I'm puzzled. I'll go and search for that info again, but in the meantime this is what's happening:

If I go to the index page it shows the latest photos (the last 20). If I click on the latest one, no problem - it displays and if it has a larger version that works too.

But if I choose the link on the index page to Recent Photos: 7 days for example and click on that very same photo, it gives the error shown in the first post on this thread above.

The only difference between the photo on the first page and the one on the 7 days page is the info being passed.

http://www.xxxxxx.com/pp/showphoto.php?photo=14826
http://www.xxxxxx.com/pp/showphoto.p...t=last7&page=1

The first one works, the second one gives the error.

If I paste that second one on a new browser, it gives fatal error. If I remove the cat=last7 it works fine.

(my forum is not publicised - if supports needs to location of my forums with a login let me know and I'll pm the info).

I haven't been able to duplicate this error; you can PM me the info and I'll try it on your setup.

I would say that 8MB is low, edit your php.ini to increase the memory_limit variable to either 16MB or 32MB.

It is definately low when trying to use GD2 as the image processor since it uses PHP memory as it is a part of PHP. You do not see this error at all using ImageMagick.
