| Users not intergrating into VB from PP
I got PP first a couple of months ago and since i was having trouble intergrating with phpBB i decided to just by VB3 because i knew that it intergrated better with PP. I set the cookie paths as I read in the forums and turned everything on in PP. however, VB is not recognizing any of the users I have in PP. Nor is it accepting any new users from PP into VB. Aside from the fact that I also cant seem to intergrate the looks either. Ive read the forums and could not find the place where i was supposed to set the url in the VB style manager. the headers do work, but images dont show up and the tables become wider than they should be! I NEED HELP BADLY!!! I would appreciate someone to take me by the hand and help me put my site together.

Ok I am sorry I really need help. I downloaded the vbMod and applied everything in the "read me" file. categories from pp intergrated into VB great except for some reason images in the data base are generating wide thumbnails with "x's" on them that are messing up the interface. The 22 users i have in photopost are not being recognized by vb. i followed your instructions to the "t" in your vb FAQ: here is my config_inc.php file:
$vblicense = "#XXXXXXXXX"; (the license comes with the # character which i am unsure if is required or not, eitherways I tried both and neither helped)
these is my cookie settings:
$cookie_path = "/";
$cookie_domain = ""; (i had my domain in this as well, but it did not help either
$cookieprefix="bb";
and in the vB3 Admin Options under Cookies and HTTP Header Options:
Path to Save Cookies: /
Cookie Domain: <blank> (which were the default settings)
I have so many questions i really need answers and would appreciate one ASAP
Am I understanding the instructions correctly?
Am i supposed the leave the cookie paths as a simple slash (/) or am i supposed to place an actual path there, and if so what directory, the forums or photopost?
mySQL tables have 2 tables one called user( VB) and users(PP) all have same fields such as userid, password, etc (user has a bit more) is this a conflict in anyway?
when people register, which form should they use? VB or PP or a combo of both.
I would like to get this sorted out before I even begin upgrading photopost 4.8.5B4 which i am dying to try out.

Well first of all your main issue here is your not integrating with VB3
In your Photopost you have it installed as a standalone application.
You would need to edit your config file with the proper settings to connect to the vb database and in the photopost options actually choose vb3 as the integration not photopost

if you meant the user registration system, it was set to photopost, i did it (*changed it to vb3) and now the gallery is all messed up because of the stylesheet. All my users are gone and i can't seem to log-in to the admin section of photopost, so i can revert back to its original state. http://underlabstudios.com/photopost/
also for some reason, if you go to the forums, the feature photos somteimes miss certain thumbnails, and show wide "x's" that stretch my interface. http://underlabstudios.com/forums
how can i get to the admin section for photopost now? if i am using vb's user system, then how can i then move all the users quickly into that system? please help i can feel it getting close to perfect, despite this mishap.

It is like this.
1. If you select vb3 integration you need to do this.
a. change the info to vb3 integration like I stated
b. edit your usergroups table for Photopost in phpmyadmin. Delete every entry in the usergroups table except number 5 which is your admin insert. edit that entry and change the 5 to a 6 so your vb admin login will get an admin link.
c. You would login to photopost with your vb3 login
Your users in photopost images will not belong to the right person afterward though so as an admin you would need to reassign them to the proper user in VB afterwards.
If you have trouble integrating things we do offer installation service for 59.00 which would take care of integrating things all except for of course the orphaned images which would be on you to edit and reassign.

Ok thanks i will give it a try, but you see I already clicked on vb3 in the in the part that states "user registartion used" or something like that to vb3, so will if i do all this above, will all the users i had, be gone? Will i have to transfer them over, or will all of this merge the data stored on usernames, password, ect.?
and if I simply wanted to go back to photopost while i get ready to make the change, how can i set it back? or is it by doing all the mysql work the only way I would be able to get the admin button back?i would like to give it one last whirl before I pay you guys to do it.

As stated to go back you reverse and choose photopost
Also as noted your Photopost users would not be in VB or the images as I state. You would need to add them and correct the photos to the proper owners. This is above and beyond any normal integration as your doing things mid stream which always causes issues.

ok for $59 you will intergrate both vb and pp with styles sheets like looking perfect and functioning perfect, or are you saying it will cost more because i started "midstream"? I wasnt aware I had to install vb first or not have any users in pp before i installed vb. I ddnt realize that you could only intergrate into vb, but not vice versa. I do not get the admin cp nor the log-in to reverse the switch. what php file would i edit? if you guys can fix this for the $59 bucks then just let me know how to make the order.

Yes for an install fee we would properly Intergrate the product with VBulletin using your stylesheet vb header etc.
This is not going to fix the issue of existing photo ownership when switching integrations midstream nor will it make your photopost users get into VB.
You would need to sort through that yourself.

You do not need to edit any files. You need to reverse the steps I posted above when you asked how to go to vb
Make sure you edit the config back to photopost make your integration set to photopost and make the usergroups entry 5 not 6 for admin

First off, I would like to thank you for your great tech support and above all patience, which I am sure was wearing thin ( I used to do Customer Service for a web hosting company - I feel your pain) or perhaps it is my paranoia talking. I did everything you said and went back to the FAQ and intergrated the VB and PP's user registration system.
I literally added each user individually (i know there was a probably a mySQL statement that probably have done the job, but i am just starting to get familiar with it, and did not want to risk the chance of screwing everyhting up). A problem occured when all the images from PP were linking to the users wrong profile, i.e user DMAN had plaiboi's profile. I went to phpmyadmin and matched the user ids from vb to what they were at once, pp. this solved the issue with pp's images not matching their owners. However i have another problem. users have to log-in 2wice to both pp and vb inorder to use both scripts, sometimes they will have to re-login to the apps, as they go back and forth between them. I have read your vb FAQ which told me to place a prefix in vb's config.php file, however this did not solve the issue here is the coding:
// Prefix that all vBulletin cookies will have
// For example
$cookieprefix = 'bb';
Should I change bb to photopost, or what. the FAQ really wasnt clear on it.

EUREKA I GOT IT. So Close now, i can taste it. VB gives you a license number, but they give it with a "#" in front of it. I removed this character and everything worked. There is only one more issue that i cant figure out, and that is on my photopost side, vb adds a log-in and a few links, which would be great if they linked into vb's section, however they all seem to be looking for their prospective files on photopost side rather than vb's side.
User CP FAQ Members List Calendar New Posts Search Quick Links Log Out
All of these links do not work on PP's side. What could this be?

Well you can do one of two things
either per the VB3 integration faq's correct all the relative links or
DOWNLOAD Photopost 4.8.5 RC1 which has alot of enhanced Vb3 features and corrects these path issues immediately without touching vb templates

is 4.8.5 released non-beta? I will try it out anways, but i've been waiting to get this issue to be solved before i even began touching that. I am excited to see if I can embed .swf files, which is important for me, since I am an animator and have some cool cartoons i want to display.

It is Release Candidate 1 meaning it is just not no longer beta but not yet Final Release
The beta period was quite a few long months on this so it is pretty stable and all issues reported have been fixed so I expect and forsee no issues.
It has alot of cool features plus is alot easier for people to integrate since alot of it now is automatic with no need to touch VB at all
