New upgrade isn't recognizing the database

I just installed 4.8.2 as an upgrade for a client. Everything seems to be working ok, except for the fact that I can't seem to get the gallery to recognize the images and things stored in the database.

I did integrate the forum with VBulletin 3.03 as well.

When I go to phpadmin and look at the MySql database, I can see all the information - but for some reason it's not translating to the gallery.

Please help! I've been working on this for 2 days straight, and I KNOW it must be some stupid thing I'm doing wrong...but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.

here's a link to our gallery: http://www.scrappychick.com/gallery/index.php

Thanks for any help you can give me.

your board is closed so I can not give a suggestion but check your table prefix and mysql connection information.

Ok sorry about that. We had members trying to get in all day so I've had it closed. It's open now.

I just looked at where I'm supposed to put in the table prefix, and it's blank. Any idea how I find out what that is supposed to be?

From what I can tell, my MySql connection information is correct. I have it pointing to the right database for the gallery and the board integration, and all the usernames/passwords are right.

Thanks in advance for any further help you can give me. I'm pulling my hair out here! I did a vbulletin upgrade last night and it was smooth sailing - but this one's giving me fits!

For security reasons, please remove the install.php from the PhotoPost directory before proceeding.

why is install there is this is an upgrade? Go ahead and remove that file so I can see the problem

From what I can tell though you did an install not an upgrade.

It's removed. Sorry about that. I've been working on this for 24 hours straight and I'm a little fuzzy at the moment. Just wanting to get it all back up and running.

I know the files are still in the data folder - I can open them and look at the images. I just can't get the gallery to recognize they're there.

You have to have it going to the wrong database or the database photos and comments tables are empty

Ok...I've got two databases. One for the discussion boards, one for the gallery. Just to make sure I'm on the right track here, in the config file, the first database it points to should be the gallery database, correct? Then the second is the boards?

Also, in the database for the gallery there are two photo tables. One is just called photos, and the other pphotos. In the pphotos table, this is an example of the information that is there (it goes on for pages..all different info):

Full Texts id user userid cat storeid storecat date title description keywords bigimage width height filesize views medwidth medheight medsize approved lastpost rating watermarked allowprint extra1 extra2 extra3 extra4 extra5 extra6 disporder ipaddress
Edit Delete 9 Click Chick 2 500 0 0 1087237668 Taylor 5 Years Old 45yrold.jpg 468 457 78901 16 0 0 0 1 1101793884 0.00 no 99999 65.54.97.203
Edit Delete 10 Click Chick 2 500 0 0 1087237673 Quentins First Steps FS1.JPG 443 432 69801 25 0 0 0 1 1087747105 0.00 no 99999 65.54.97.203

The table specifically called photos, on the other hand, is empty, or at least I can't browse it.

The same thing is true with the table called comments. That one is blank. There is another table, however, called ppcomments, that has all our information in it.

Any more ideas? Can I just rename the tables called pp whatever and take the pp off and have it work? Could it be that simple?

Yep you did an install not an upgrade as I stated.

You need to change your photopost table prefix to p where is is blank now. If you do that they should show however you may need to run the upgrade scripts on the database tables from the last version she was running.

Ok one more question. I now have everything working (thanks again!) but the gallery is assigning the images to the wrong user number. How do I get it to put the images with the right owners? It's matching them up with their vbulletin usernumber, which doesn't necessarily match their photopost usernumber.

Of course if your changing Integration midstream you will have this issue. There is nothing really to do about it other than the admin editing each picture and reassigning to the proper user.

If you do things from a script level. You would need to rewrite the photopost entries to the proper usernumber and also rewrite all the files to use the new userid Vb gave them.

We rely on userids to track everything so if you change forums etc and userid's change this will wreak havoc on Photopost

Ok...that's what I thought.

Do I have to integrate the two? Or can I just go back to having them separate and avoid having to edit each picture?

OK thanks! I think I'll do that. They don't need to be integrated...we just thought it would be a nice easy option. I'd rather do that than go through and hand edit each picture.

Thanks a million for all your help.

Alright....I've got everything fixed but one thing.

When I go to upload an image, I get this error:

MySQL error reported!

Script: bulkupload

Query: INSERT INTO notify (id,userid, photo) values(NULL,,4691)

Result: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '4691)' at line 1

Database handle: Resource id #7

However, the image does show up in the gallery, and there is a thumbnail and everything.

What is causing that error and how do I fix that?
