Images Uploaded But No Display?

I've just worked thru my first install and seem to be having an issue I'm not sure how to describe. I think the install went fine, no problems and it got the board up (just testing it before giving it a permanent home elsewhere). But when I upload pics it doesn't show the picture during the upload process nor does it show in the gallery when complete. All I get is a red X.

When I look at the path the image should be displaying from it is correct. But when I look at my directory there is no image. Then I go up one level to where my normal folders sit for my site, where photopost is listed among other folders, and there are two folders there that I did not add, one labeled 2 and another labeled 500.

So I take the path for the image that is supposed to be displayed and back it out to these folders instead and it works. What would make the image folders be created in a different area?

Sorry if I haven't explained this very well.

I think I got it figured out. Was able to change the path in the admin panel which didn't seem to be drilling down far enough.

Well, that didn't work long. Now when I go to upload I get a blank screen. No errors or anything. I click on Upload/Submit, get the preparing image for upload message then a blank screen.

Any ideas what is up? I've even done a full uninstall and loaded a freshly downloaded copy of PhotoPost.

php Timeout could be.

You looked at your server error logs to see an error?

Without an error it is alot harder to say for sure.

If your using GD2 which is part of php you may want to edit your php.ini and set your memory_limit higher and your max_execution_time to 0

Thanks omegatron. It appears to be an issue with GD2. I made the changes you suggested and it works okay now. I've requested the correct path for ImageMagick from my provider but what they have given me doesn't work. I'm still waiting for them to verify the executable path.
