Possible GD2 Problem (Configuration?) After Upgrade

I recently updated my version of PhotoPost to 4.8.2, and for some reason thumbnails and "medium" sized images appear very pixilated. I assume that it is a back-end problem with my server, most likely involving GD2. However, I have recompiled PHP with GD in an attempt to fix the problem, and that hasn't worked. This leads me to believe that somewhere in the process of the upgrade, I messed with how Photopost interacts with GD. I am just trying to see if you guys have seen this problem before and have any suggestions to give me.
