character flaws

I am trying to put my copyright notice in a footer of my PP installation:

Copyright © 2004 TRIBE COMMUNICATIONS INC. TRIBE® is a registered trade mark of TRIBE COMMUNICATIONS INC.

and it comes out like this:

Copyright 2004 TRIBE COMMUNICATIONS INC. TRIBE is a registered trade mark of TRIBE COMMUNICATIONS INC.

why is that...?
