Exclamation v4.6 - after clicking "upload" the screen goes blank - new server

New problem, blank screen when uploading.

When a member uploads a photo to our photo gallery this is what they see AFTER they click "upload" (after browsing to the photo on their hard disk.)

This is a new server, as explained in this (resolved and unrelated) thread...
http://www.photopost.com/members/for...d.php?t=110292

I do NOT have any problems uploading videos in our video gallery... only having a problem uploading photos in the photo gallery...

well I tried registering a test username to test but your forum is all farbed up. I tried 3 times and keeps telling me image verification failed and I know I typed correctly

Did the photo upload?

That's weird. We've had about 650 new members in the last 7 days... haven't heard of this problem.

Anyway, I turned off image verification, give it another whirl? Sorry about the troubles, and thanks for looking into it.

And yes, we are still having the issue.

well I have no permission to post on your site

I suspect a timeout issue? is this only one member?

If so have you tried clearing any files out of there upload directory.

No, it's everyone, not just one member. Doesn't matter how big, or how small the image is.

If it's a time out issue... is there any particular PHP setting/value I should be looking for?

PHP --> http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/phpinfo.php

Maybe I'm having a blonde moment... but I'm not sure what you mean by the second part "mark me as being able to upload etc" ... do you have a member ID already?

Thanks, Chuck!!

I registered another username as was able to attempt to post.

The only way I have seen this happen like that is a timeout error or the processor is bombing out on try to process the image.

Do you have mogrify on the server to switch to and see if that works? Do you have shell access to compile it if it is not there.

Does your server logs give any indication of any errors?

Omegatron, thanks for looking into it.

I stumbled upon a big clue last night... not sure why I didn't notice this before.

But:

1) The pictures were in fact being uploaded as they were appearing in the /uploads directory, so that ruled out an upload issue and decided to focus on other things.

2) I went to edit a photo thumbnail for a video, and when I clicked "submit" to replace the thumb... I got the same blank screen.... hmmm.....

I decided to play the hunch that this was a thumbnail related issue of sorts... I wasn't sure how to independently test GD2... so I flipped back to imagemagick, and entered the correct path to mogrify...

Then... POOF... everything works fine again. Granted, we were using GD2 before, never used Imagemagick... but the problem is now fixed. I will look into the GD2 thing at a later date, the galleries are working GREAT and I don't want to monkey with anything.

Thanks for all the assistance and keep up the good work!
Patrick
