Final step installation error ...

Hi All,

Im up to the final step for an integration installation with vB 3 ...and im getting the following error:

Could not connect to User databaseAccess denied for user: 'username@localhost' to database 'dbname_vbulletin'

Anyone know why this may be happeneing ??

EDIT ...im getting the exact same error with reviewpost too ...anyone ... ?

If you read the error itself, it's telling you that it cannot connect to the vb database - check your config settings and correct as necessary.

I have the config php file...and it looks perfect ... is there any way i can email it to you so you can have a quick look for me please ?

It wouldn't help - the error is that PHP cannot connect to your database and the only thing that will fix it is putting in the properly database, userid and password.

but this is the proper userid and password...cause i just used cPanel to create the database ... I also tried to delete the database ...re-create it and still the same error ... ... Id really appreciate any help or suggestions that you can offer..

Check with your provider and tell them that you cannot connect to your database with those settings; there isn't much I can do when your server is refusing the connection request.

If your using VBulletin database simply use the username password etc in your VB includes/config.php file

Is username the username?

Basically you have not entered the proper information to connect to mysql

OK guys...i got it working ...seems that i needed my host to allow this kind of connection ...my info was fine...there was just some 'stop gate' disallowing this connectionuntil i specifically asked for it ....
Its all good now
