4.8.1 Upgrade instructions I an upgrading from 4.8c to 4.8.1 I downloaded the zip file I have looked for instructions for upgrading versus a new install and have not been able to locate them. Instructions I find are for a new install. I had PhotoPost install my original version but undertand that the upgrade is merely copying in specific files. But I am uncomfortable with a specific set of instructions. Can you point me to written instructions? Thanks |
how about the upgrades.txt in the uploads directory or as the upgrade.txt states for version specific changes read the changelog.txt file in the documentations directory Either way I think those will get you set |
Thanks, I found the upgrade instructions. A couple of questions: It says "upload all directories (except uploads, which is just a directory to separate upgrade scripts..." should that read "upload all directories (except upgrades, which is just a directory of separate upgrade scripts..."? If you upload all directories what happens to directory DATA? I believe that is the one where all the photos reside and I am reluctant to upload that directory. Once I upload the files should I run upgrade.php since there is not an upgrade##.php that refers to 4.8c? Thanks |
In the upgrade docs it tells you for specific changes in version read changelog.txt However to answer the question no upgrades to run going from 4.8c to 4.8.1 Also it would not hurt to upload the upload or data directories again. You dont have to do it but it is not going to harm anything if you did. |
so just upload some specific files and the new files, without the need to run the upgrade file,,, right? (version 4.8d) |
Yes, upgradexxx.php scripts are primarily for database changes. There were no database changes from 4.8x to 4.8.1 so you can simply upload any changed or new files. |
thank you dkiefer. |
What upgrade script I must run for upgrade from version 4.0 to 4.81? Do I need step by step make upgrades 4.0., 4.1, .... ? |
Yes, you need to perform each one as outlined in the upgrade instructions and the roadmap provided by upgrade.php |
