vbulletin3 and logging in

I am running version 4.8 with vB3.0.1

When members are logged into the forum and then go to the gallery, they have to log in again on the gallery page or can't get into the gallery at all.

This is always cookies. Check out the VB3 FAQ thread linked to the top of this forum

I have been through every setting listed in the forums and FAQ and I cannot get my cookies right. Here are my settings in both VB and PP, they match up perfectly. I have also entered my vb license (not my customer number) number. Just like all the other posts say (I have been searching all day) I have to log in seperately to pp after being logged into vb. I also get logged out of vb after goint to PP and cleared my cookies after each setting.

(settings for both PP and VB)
Path: /
Domain: .ericsmedia.com
Prefix: bb (set in the config.php file for the vb side)

Could it be that my license number isn't getting read correctly? I checked at Vbulletin and it is right but I can't find it in my index.php, where it says in the FAQ to look for the number at the top. So I don't know what vb file contains the license info.

Okay, I tried it so many way I must have just changed it just before you got in there, sorry about that. I did try it with them matched though and I get the same result even now. Mabe I am missing a config somehwere, what happens is that after I login to vb then go to pp I have the menu as if I am logged in but when I click on a photo it tells me I have to register, then I have to login to pp before I can see anything.

Okay well you need to also check your VB License number and make sure it is correct. It does not seem correct as if I login to the forum the bbpassword is one thing and when I login to Photopost it changes

8f64f88cb2260edc4163b269d797e825

f3988fe5b4c66c7efe0f4a3b2c18f068

This is a tell tale sign the wrong variable has been entered in VB License

I checked it at vbulletin.com and that's the number they assigned me when I bought it. As I mentioned above I don't know where to reference it in any of the VB files, the FAQ says it's at the top of index.php (in the vb dir) but it's not.

double check the in the admin directory the index.php its at the top

However do some more testing with your cookies. I was unable to get a bbuserid and bbpassword cookie written logging into photopost.

Try reuploading all the photopost files incase this was an upgrade. The funny thing is when logging into your photopost with no cookies on my computer does not create any cookies from our files which are the userid and password cookies

Instead of that I get the lastvisit and lastactivity cookies normally created by the forum and I have not even been to the forum.

Okay I re-uploaded the files and I am back to square one now lol. I did confirm that the license number is correct though but it's not doing me any good.

Well I dont know why you say square one.

I went to your site used the name I registered their of Omegatron and logged in and was logged in fine in both the gallery and forum.

Just to make sure I was not dreaming I cleared cookies and tried it three times.

It worked every time

When I login to the forums (after clearing my cookies) and click on a photo it tells me I have to register, if I close my browser window and come back into the forums I am logged out again. I will keep digging and tinkering with it, there's gotta be a solution here some where with all these posts

And the answer is the same as you have me quoted me. It is always cookies. We run VB3 with Photopost right here on this site and it is integrated correctly as you see.

You can PM me an admin login and url to your board if you like.

On PhotoPostDev.Com we use the PhotoPost config-inc.php settings:
$cookie_path = "/";
$cookie_domain = "";
$cookieprefix="bb";
and in the vB3 Admin Options under Cookies and HTTP Header Options:
Path to Save Cookies: /
Cookie Domain: <blank>
At the moment VB is setup with the cookie domain .mydomain.com

So any suggestions as to why PP won't log me in?

Just to add. I signed out of VB and then went to my gallery to find that I was still logged into the gallery (if that helps)

If your sure cookie settings are the same check and make sure your vb license number entered in your photopost config. Not customer number.

As I stated above this is always cookies not being set right.

1. Yes my Licese number is correct.
2. You still haven't cleared up the conflicting info in the FAQ and this thread (which I posted up before).

My present settings are as follows:

PP:
$cookieprefix="bb";
$cookie_path = "/";
$cookie_domain = "";

VB:
Cookie path /
Cookie domain: .ozhonda.com

My forums are under www.ozhonda.com/forum
My gallery is unre www.ozhonda.com/gallery

And the conflicting information is what? There is none.

You can set cookie domains to something other than blank.

Everything in our FAQ stat that the cookie settings need to be IDENTICAL between the forum and photopost. You can use other cookie prefix's other than bb etc

Your cookie settings are fine and I am logged in both products when I login.

Now you have not followed the FAQ in relation to editing the VB templates to take care of the relative paths yet
