Header Not Displaying

A couple of weeks ago I posted that my header file was not showing. Someone else had the same problem. I now know what causes the problem.

My Photopost installation is on a sub directory (galleries.photographers.co.uk) . The header file that I specified was a standard header file that resided on the main site (Photographers.co.uk). This wasn't being displayed.

I copied my header file to the sub domain and changed the link in the admin section and the header now displays as I would wish. So if there is anyone else with this problem, copy the header file to the domain where Photopost is hosted and the problem should go away.

Andy

Actually in your thread you opened about your header you never replied back. You got talking about ImageMagick and never said anything else about the header.

You could have had several issues. One would be a wrong path. Two would be that your using relative url's and obviously images would not show as they are looking in the wrong path.

3 could be a permissions issue thing.

At any rate I am able to use header's across domain names on the same server as long as path is correct so if your happy with the header being where it is thats fine if not we can see why you are having an issue with it.

Hi Omegatron,

Must admit that I did get into the problems with Image Magik. No idea what was causing them, but a change of ISP to one who with experience of hosting Photopost resolved all the issues. In fact the hosting company have been excellent. Very helpful and not a single problem. Just in case anyone is interested they are www.odsol.com.

O.K. back to the header. I'm sure I had the right path as for a test I copied the path into the footer box and it displayed as the footer successfully. To be more exact with what I am doing the sub directory is on a different server to the main site, so this may be the problem.

It is not really an issue for me. It seems a minor point and it happened because I was doing something different to most people.

I would also like to say that for the price I am delighted with Photopost so far.
