| PhotoPost Version Numbers explained
PhotoPost version numbers are defined as:
MajorVersion.Version(letter).MinorVersion(letter)
MajorVersion: Identified major releases - i.e. 3, 4 (current major series)
Version: The current version within the MajorVersion - i.e. 1, 2 ...
MinorVersions: The release number within the current Version
(letter) releases indicate some minor changes have been applied to the current version available for download. Letter changes are not required by everyone as they usually only involve minor changes to a few files with effected some users and are posted as a courtesy to current users unfamiliar with editing files or new customers who have yet to install any files. You should read the Information thread posted in the Announcements or Installation area to see if any changes apply to you.
Any changes to the MajorVersion, Version or MinorVersion indicates an upgrade that we recommend for all users. A change to these numbers may also indicate new functionality over a previous version.
Examples:
4.8 - the initial 4.8 release with no minor updates
4.8c - the first letter update for version 4.8 (there is no a or b), which may not contain updates required by all users
4.8.1 - the first recommended upgrade for 4.8
4.8.1c - another letter upgrade for the 4.8.1 release which may or may not contain updates required by all users
