| Error message from Hell: Script:index, Query:SELECT http://www.cyburbia.org/gallery/

What's happening?
One of the gallery administrators complained that he couldn't get into the admin control panel. I couldn't get in either: there were vauge "internal service error" messages, but otherwise the rest of the PhotoPost-based area was working. Quote:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
| The gallery database checked out okay; no errors. I repaired it several times. There was no change.
I restored the gallery from a week old backup, since I had no clue as to what was wrong with the control panel; the error message didn't point to any scripts or lines that there might have been problems with. Now, after a complete restoration: /gallery and PHP database, I get the following error message at index.php. Quote:
MySQL error reported!
Script: index
Query: SELECT groupid,cpaccess,modaccess,diskspace,uploadsize,uploads,comments,editpho,editposts,useralbums,reqmod,canassign FROM usergroups WHERE groupid='6' LIMIT 1
Result: Unknown column 'reqmod' in 'field list'

You shouldn't have done a restore, as your first error message was not database related.
Now you have an older database than the current scripts are looking for.
I don't suppose you have a recent, like within the last day or so backup do you?

Okay ... I tried an upgrade to 4.8. The gallery is working again, but .... the admin control panel is still inaccessible. "Internal Server Error: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request blah blah blah blah" Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Yes, I looked around, and couldn't find similar errors under similar circumstances discussed on the board.

That's strange. I did nothing, and now I can get into the control panel. However, I can only see the index page; anything else gets me the same "Internal Server Error" pages.
Anyone know what's wrong? Anyone?

We would need to see excerpts from the servers error log in order to tell. The error message you are getting is a rather generic server message. The true cause will be show in the error logs.
