Yes, i have done that two times.
First with the install from v4.8 and the second time with v4.8c.
As i write it works now good with the old showgallery.php from version 4.7.j
Ofcourse i want upgrade it to the new version, but if gives the problem i wrote.
Is there a upgrade maybe needed form the sql database? and can i do this manuel?
Or have you a other idea why the new version give no permission to view there own gallery?

No errors but this messages:

You do not have permission to view this category

I have give permission in the admin to the users.
As i wrote before i use now the old showgallery.php from version 4.7.j still without problems.
When i upload the new version showgallery ( v4.8 or v4.8c) than there is no permission anymore.
Any idea yet???

You can PM Don or I an admin login but you need to have the new files in place.

Everything is check!
No problems with the gallery now !!
BUT : Still working with the old showgallery.php from version 4.7.j
So please tell me what is the difference between the new version and old version?
There must be something why the new version don't members give the permission to view there gallery.

Still the problem without any solution.
Today i have upgrade to version 4.8d without any result.
Still working with the old version showgallery.php version4.7j.
I have also make a second gallery to look what is happen with the showgallery.php version 4.8d and uploaded al the new files from version 4.8d
Yes all is working good.
I saw behind the showgallerij.php the messages:
Click here to see all of
That messages is missing in the gallery with is working for the visitors.
In the languages file it is:
$Globals['pp_lang']['tosee'] = "Click here to see all of";
So what have i done:
All files from version 4.8d uploaded to the server.
And again the same problem with the showgallery.
So i think there must be a mistake or error in the database.
Please give me a hint to correct the problem in teh gallery.
There are a lot of photo's so i don't want to start over the gallery.

I think I asked many posts up that once you have all 4.8 files in place that you could PM me an admin login to check things out on your install. Not too much we can suggest without seeing whats going on or how you have things set. I asked you this 4 weeks ago and have never heard anything since.

If I go to my gallery I view everything fine in 4.8 as you found out with your second install.

I beleive his issue was permissions on the members gallery. There was no bug. Once he set things correctly for his category permissions for the members gallery so users can view it they will be able to.

No i have still the problem.
After i send a PM as ask i have never heard something.
I have tried several things.
I have install a seperate new gallery and compare the settings.
The new gallery is working good, but when i restore the existent database the problem is there.
So it must be a problem in the sql database.
I have check everything many times also special the permission e.d.
The only solution to keep work with the existent gallery is change the showgallery.php version 4.8.d to version 4.7.j
The problem is arise after update to version 4.8.

Check your settings I bet your problem is this missing variable.

INSERT INTO {$pp_db_prefix}settings VALUES (94,'Do you want Members Gallery to show all of a users photos?','memformat','','yes',57,2);

That is about the only change in 4.8 I can see that would have any difference with the members gallery

In my database i only found this:
INSERT INTO pp_settings VALUES ('94','Do you want Members Gallery to show all of a users photos?','memformat','','no','57','2');#%%

Must pp_settings change to pp_db_prefix ?

In the admin there is a question 'Do you want Members Gallery to show all of a users photos?
I only can change the setting from no to yes and after your replay i have change the setting form No to Yes.
But without any result.
Also i have search for the INSERT INTO {$pp_db_prefix}settings in de sql database, but i can't find this command.
