Need urgent help here : Logging in problems/ Cookie problems Edit : May have nicked the problem.....hang on , testing some stuff out :) I have ensured my cookie path , cookie domain is identical for both my vb3 forums and photopost installation Photopost settings : $cookie_path = "/"; $cookie_domain = ""; vb3 settings : Path to Save Cookies: / Cookie Domain: For photopost cookie prefix i have tried both leaving it blank and : $cookieprefix="bb"; My license no has been inserted correctly. Checking the cookies for both forum login as well as photopost log in, seem to be identical, as in mydomain.com/ is in there ( not sure if its supposed to show this ) However this is the problems i am facing WHen i am logged into the forums and i go to the photopost page, i am not logged in I am pretty sure this is a cookie problem and all my members are facing this problem. How do i rectify this ?? Getting fustrated here :( |
For both application: Check as well your vb3 cookie prefix in includes/config.php Need to be set to bb Cookie domain : leave it empty cookie path : "/"; it should work, Interdit |
I messed with it somemore, and it seems to be working fine now, will await more feedback from my members. Thanks interdit for the reply though, much appreciated :D |
Just remember the way photopost and some forums handle a blank domain can be different. It is mostly best in most cases to set the domain to .domain.com so it is written exactly |
thanks for the info Omega, Interdit |

Don has posted this as well and I have seen where this is an issue on some servers. some servers vb will set it to www.domain.com others domain.com. For compatibility I always suggest setting to to .domain.com in both products. |
I have 3 domains that point to my site... how could I use the .domain.com to specify those 3 domains.... different people use diff. domains to access the site and want to bev sure and cover all the domains. Would it be best to leave it blank in this case? |
well I dont beleive so. You can safely set it to the true domain you have Photopost set on. Photopost only operates under the domain url you enter in the config so no matter how many domains point there once they hit login the program takes them to .domain.com so they are no longer on their initial domain. They will be on the domain Photopost is on. |
