VB4 insert photo into post

Can someone tell me if there is a simple way to allow users to insert photos uploaded in Photopost Pro (8) into VB4 posts? I've had some luck using a modification (Cel photo popup) but it seems like with the level of integration between PP and VB (especially in V8.x) this should be included functionality.

Thanks

Grahame

Like you said there is a MOD and it is just that a modification to vbulletin's code not our program. Our program has nothing to do with vBulletin's posting interface which is why you see mods.

The only plugins included in our code are a photo block to show content on the forum index a navigation link and information in profile page of the user so there are not separate profile pages.

Our program lists when viewing a photo ubbcode and such links users can use but if you looking for some forum based way of doing things you should be looking for mods to alter your forums coding.

I understand that they are separate programs, I just wondered if such functionality existed. It seems as though the PP program is being sold as integrating well into VB (which it does, no question about that) and I'm surprised that the integration doesn't including what seems like an obvious need. If you're integrating a Photo Gallery into a Bulletin Board, wouldn't most people have a need to insert pictures from one into the other? You're including quite a few VB plugins in the latest version, what's one more?

I guess we're stuck with the unsupported mod for now (which breaks IE).

Well it all depends on your understanding of integration.

No plugin we support and release modifies any vBulletin file. We would never release and support anything that has customers doing hand modifications to files. Now last time I saw that mod your talking about there are several steps of hand modifying vBulletin files.

That is why it is and always will be a mod. Anything we release to plugin to vb is 100% fully a plugin thing with our own templating and coding which takes advantage of the vb plugin system. We can not develop anything that would exist outside the vb plugin system.

Understood. The only editing of files involved with the installation of Cel Photo Popup for VB4 involves editing it's own config files to enter your Photopost information. One would think that a mod from Photopost themselves wouldn't require that step?

I get what you're saying Chuck, I just hope there might be a way to do it in the future but I understand it's probably not high on anyone's priority list either especially with VB 5 just around the corner.

vB 5 is not a big priority on any vBulletin customers list that I have heard of yet. We do have betas out to support it though. Not many have been impressed with the vb5 product.

A community photo gallery - My Photo Gallery

The look and feel of our beta works well with the new layout of vb5 but I do not like vb5.

As far as plugins for vb4 we release plugins that are supportable. Hense we do not release a plugin that is going to break all the time. vBulletin changes there posting interface like all the time.

Agreed on VB5 I have not been impressed. The other main forum I provide support for is on Xenforo and I may look to unify the two once VB4 is no longer supported. Oh how I love multi-million post migrations.....

yeah xenforo or invisionboard seem to be best paths for vbulletin owners who do not want to switch. I will be staying with vb4 as that will be around for quite some time. I think once vb5 fails because we all know vb4 was a disappointment and vb5 will be worse they will have no option but to stick with vb4.
