Sub categories disappear? Any ideas? This is a difficult one to investigate because I can't duplicate the error. Two of our members have had this happen. They've both been very familiar with the gallery. They try to go to a category, but can't see any of the subcategories within in. They both have permissions to see it and nothing has been changed. This is a screenshot of it. http://gallery.backyardpoultry.com/d...ium/breeds.jpg Both users were able to log and come back later to find it working again. Any ideas what's causing this? |
Poultry Breeds - Backyard Poultry Photo Gallery I am going to guess this is the url you are referring to? Only thing I would suggest is check the users usergroup and the permissions you have set for those groups. Maybe there group has permission to see the main group but you have removed viewing permission for there group to see those subcats. That is the only thing I can think of here. The link I posted above I am viewing your site as a guest and can see everything fine. I even used the user login Photopost which is still valid on your site and I see things the same way either logged in or logged out. |
The permissions are fine. Thanks for the opinion Chuck. I think I'll have to chart this one up as a mystery. Next time it happens I'll get the member to check and see if the guest view is the same or different for them. |
Yeah depending on who this is you will need to get info because the only way a category is not going to display for a user is if they do not have permission to view it. ;) |
Did you investigate what usergroup etc the user in question belongs to and check your category viewing permissions? |
Hi. Yes, I did do that. One user had admin access, the other that had the same problem had registered user access and experienced the same. I'm still waiting for some more information from them. |
Okay yes you would need to explicitly check the differences between users and your set permissions in there would be the issue. ;) |
Definitely not a permission problem as next time they log in it's fine again. I think it must be a cookie/browser issue after reading your comment in another thread. |
Okay although not sure how it would be a cookie issue. would be interested to find out how we reproduce the issue since we can not seem to. |
